A replacement programme is just that, and doesn't apply with geographical exceptions. Just drop an email to Ben.Stoddart@bfi.org.uk and perhaps include some evidence of ownership if you can manage it. That should do it.

finally got down to fopp in covent garden (busy, and smaller than i imagined), picked up:

daughters of the dust
actor's revenge
women in love
rita, sue & bob too
life is sweet
celine and julie go boating
tess

all for 6 quid each

i was admiring my receipt on the tube back like a fool and realised i forgot to get the one title i actually wanted most--belle et la bete!

d'oh (pretty sure it wasn't there unless i missed it)

Unless something has changed in the last couple of weeks it's not in the £6 deals as it's too new (it was £16 last time I checked)

They don't differentiate between DVD and blu-ray on the promotion site - it's referring to the old DVD version that can now be got for £3

Sorry to drag up something old, but I was just reading through the details of this on BFI's website and I reckon it does include Edward II. This is the bit that makes it look confusing:

Quote:
This second of two limited edition Blu-ray collections brings together Jarman’s last six features, made in the prolonged burst of creativity and political activism that followed his HIV diagnosis in 1987, ranging from the audacious anger of The Last of England (1987) to the astonishing experimentation of Blue (1993), and concluding with Jarman’s posthumously-released elegy to Super 8, Glitterbug (1994).
While that sounds like they're saying six films, concluding with Glitterbug, that wasn't actually a proper feature. The fact that it states six features from The Last of England to Blue suggests it would have all of the last six:
  • The Last of England (1988)
  • War Requiem (1989)
  • The Garden (1990)
  • Edward II (1991)
  • Wittgenstein (1993)
  • Blue (1993)

Don't think there's any need to worry about Edward II not being in there in that case. Pretty excited for this one! I've not started Volume 1 yet as I've been waiting for this one to come along so I can go through all his feature films in order.

Its was confirmed a few weeks ago now that Edward II is included.

The BFI have certainly done themselves proud with both Jarman boxsets.

Ah, my bad, I never saw that. It just suddenly occurred to me this morning. I'll probably start the first box in the new year now I know I'll have the second one in February.

The Kenneth Anger Magick Lantern Cycle seems to be out of print. It's gone from Amazon UK besides third party sellers and not even featured on the BFI website. There was the original Blu-only release, as well as the later dual format version, but neither are available.

Room at the Top (1959) – 60th Anniversary Dual Format Edition release, 15 April 2019
The first of the British New Wave films, Room at the Top (1959), directed by Jack Clayton, stars Laurence Harvey and Simone Signoret in an adaptation of John Braine’s novel that boldly takes on the class system. This World Premiere Blu-ray release marks the film’s 60th anniversary.

Yes, very happy that Room At The Top is at last getting a Blu-ray release.

Kino announced La Habanera aaaages ago, but I never heard anything else about it, and the rep has overlooked or ignored my questions whenever I’ve asked...

Well that was almost two years ago i'm sure they were talking about the same Murnau Foundation new Transfer i don't know but seems like maybe they changed their minds about the release or ran into some legal troubles?

I might just get the 3 movie set ...just waiting for a little price drop

Wondering if Herzog set is going OOP - there's only a few copies left on Amazon and it's not available anywhere else, including third-party sellers. Its page on BFI Shop states that it's "Currently out of stock until after Christmas" but it's been awhile.
Bummed that I didn't buy it on Zavvi when it was really cheap.

It's probably like the Dreyer set, after a little while it got another pressing and wasn't hard to find any more.

Sounds like it:

"At present we do not have an ETA on this a particular title as it is reprinting, however we have asked the BFI DVD team to give us a rough idea of when to expect it and will let you know what they say. We should have an answer from them early next week."

Don't have to buy it right now then.

(BTW you were probably thinking of the Rossellini War Trilogy set, don't remember Dreyer set getting reprinted)

It was in the Fopp sale, so I expect that's where all the stock went. When that ends they should get plenty of returned stock.

How much was it? It was 28-29 pounds on Zavvi for a while, thought that was pretty cheap.
