Most likely because you're using analog.

I often come back to a movie I haven't finished. So if I turn on the Oppo first errors occur. Doing it the other way around there is no problem.

Whoever said that Oppo had confirmed HDR10+ needs to learn how to read.

'OPPO Digital is pleased to announce that we are now a current adopter of the HDR10+ license and technology. To show our continued support for our valued users, we will be exploring the ability to add support to our line of UDP #4K players in a forthcoming firmware update.`

Exploring the ability does not mean its confirmed. Far from it.

I'll bet cash money that it gets added. Only a matter of when.

Who cares about HDR10+. It's a format that really only Samsung supports... and will be dead in a few years due to a lack of studio support. So instead of Oppo wasting their time on this, why don't they focus on a adding a much more needed feature, like the ability to dim white subtitles during a 4K movie with HDR or DV. I think that would be much more useful.

Have you got any plans to get a TV that supports it? I have an LG with DV at the moment but thinking of getting a Panasonic 55fz802 for the spare room, would be nice to be able to play all the hdr standards..

So far, HDR10+ have very limited support only by Samsung (themselves) and Panasonic... LG, TCL, Vizio, Hisense and Sony have already adopted and begin supporting Dolby Vision, which is unanimous, and the majority rules. It would a wise decision for studios to select a primary format that been supported by the most, rather than just two brands.

While true, OPPO is the good suramaritan here by offering additional support soon in case you wish to experiment.
Merry Christmas btw

Merry Christmas to you too . Whenever Oppo release their firmware update for HDR10+, the only consumers who are going to benefit from it, will be the owners of a Samsung or a Panasonic TV. I have a LG OLED and HDR10+ will be useless to many others who have another brand of TV besides, Samsung or Panasonic. I'll still have Dolby Vision, which currently have the most format support, and more available 4K titles.

Mediatek has added HDR10 + decoding to current SoC’s apparently. You see it mentioned against upcoming FW from OPPO Digital, Cambridge Audio, and Pioneer. Don’t waste your time arguing.

News for Australian OPPO 203 readers from David Aiken

Quote:
I've had links for both the Interdyn and Oppo Australia update pages in my bookmarks for some years. Both of those links stopped working a couple of days ago. By going to the Interdyn home pageant heading to their support pages, I found a new support setup for all of their products at this URL: http://support.interdyn.com.au/support/home

Links to all Oppo firmware updates are at the bottom of the page. The Australian Oppo Digital site which I think was actually run by Interdyn, has been revised with an announcement of Oppo's departure and the customer service link takes you to the URL above.

@JohnAV I went ahead and asked the question regarding the green line n the OPPO Digital Users Group on FB, and someone advised me to turn Noise Reduction to +1, and sure enough the green line goes away.
Isn't that most peculiar? Why would NR have anything to do with it?
I am going to check how it affects the PQ now.
Either way, it doesn't take care of the 1 pixel overscan during BD playback though.

I wouldn't use NR with DVD or BD playback as it noticeably smoothes over grain. Doesn't seem to affect UHD though.

Exactly. I have compared various scenes from PEII on UHD with NR off and +1, and can't see any discernible difference at all. I have it on a separate mode now. Interesting fix though, eh? Do you have any logical explanation for it, Geoff D?

Perhaps a glitch from the NR processing in a particular circumstance.
Glad that you have it resolved though. ...FB has some positive aspects among all the privacy breakups.

I wonder where Facebook, Twitter & Instagram will be ten years from now; highly regulated by the main controllers? It will be interesting to see, if our cyber world improves or regresses. Methinks both, @ the same time, with a predominant penchant towards the later.
