I have held off buying the Eureka blu of Paper Moon because the extras are the same as the DVD I have and the DVD looks fine. I would love for this movie to get the Criterion treatment. Hoping for another crescent moon in the next drawing with a little girl sitting on it....

Letter Never Sent has to be one of the hidden gems in the collection, absolutely mind bogglingly amazing cinematography.

Here’s hoping for an upgrade to Kalatozov’s masterpiece The Cranes Are Flying in 2019.

Especially later in the film it looks like the characters are really in the midst of a raging forest fire. I do hope they had no mishaps shooting that.

Would you like me to spike out how many new spines, upgrades, and re-releases were released in a particular year?

For example: 2018 saw 66 releases, split up accordingly:

New spines/releases: 47
Upgrades: 14
Re-releases: 5

I am hoping when they upgrade The Cranes are Flying, they are in a classic soviet film mood and also upgrade Ballad of a Soldier!
