Wes Craven also knew what he was doing while respecting his own genre just enough to where it didn’t into a spoof. I appreciated the second Scream even more & to me had an even better twist than the first. The third I have a soft spot for but that’s where it started to get a bit into spoofing itself. Scream 4 was a surprise as it just seemed like a cash grab & at least kept up with the current events of pop culture. I’d easily welcome a release of this Scream series if possible & purchase the day it’s announced.
I love all the Scream movies, the first one is the best imo, but they're all good & worth owing to re-watch. I saw every one in the theater, they were all a great time.

I like the first Scream movie the best, but I enjoy all four. A box set of this with a lot of extras would be very nice. I'm a fan of the series.

Anyway, with Amazon dropping some prices on Shout titles, and Shout's new sale, I have finally been able to buy some of the overpriced late 2018 titles.

Sleepwalkers and Starman at 24.17 were a little pricey, but since I own everything by King and Carpenter, I don't feel too bad about paying these prices. These were less than I paid for Th eMangler.

Also, with the Sale Trick 'r Treat got down to $21 and Single White Female at $20. With the Amazon price drop I got Urban Legends at $17.61. Plus I picked up some non-horror with Dances with Wolves, Platoon, and Valley Girl all under $20.

About time! I think this is the way I am going to have to handle Shout's new pricing model. Just wait and be patient. They will drop down to an acceptable price at some point. Anyway, I'm glad to get these and not have to pay $30 each for them. No pre-orders, just be patient and I'll still be able to buy Shout/Scream titles.

Scream 3 and 4 are garbage. The whole series loses a lot its intensity knowing 4 of the main characters will never die.

Scream 4 wasn’t the most ambitious movie, but on its own merrits, it was a very solid slasher with good characters, sharp dialogue, nice performances, a few interesting kills, and good atmosphere. It was very entertaining, and probably my favorite in the series after the original. I also have a soft spot for it because it was the first R-rated movie I saw in theaters.

Scream 1 & 2 are so close in terms of how much I love them. I firmly believe the second film is the best slasher sequel of all time, and I say that as a massive fan of the Friday the 13th sequels. I think the second film takes all of what made the first brilliant and amps it up x2. Does that make it heavy handed at points? Yes. But it also makes it constantly entertaining.
[Show spoiler]The cop car scene, Gale in the sound-studio, Sarah Michelle's whole role - some of my favorite suspenseful sequences in horror history. Laurie Metcalf's performance is utterly delectable, as usual. Gale has a bit more to do in this one, Cotton is a fantastic red-herring (because it's SO overt, you never really feel he is responsible), and Sid transcends into badass territory about halfway through when she realizes that there is no point "fighting her fate". The cast is just generally fantastic, and the sequel rules are represented to their fullest potential. Bigger body count, bigger sets, more gruesome deaths (especially in Jada Pinkett's case). I'm glad the leaked script resulted in new killers because Derek would have been a redundant option, though seeing Halle as a villain may have been fun. While it can never be deemed as original as the first film, it's downright decadent and thrilling. My only real complaint is this was the perfect time to axe Dewey. A returning "fan favorite", who dies heroically. Instead we got to see him be the worst cop ever for the second time in the fourth film, and suffer through a flimsy love-triangle in the third.

The third is... a mess.

The fourth was a return to form but there was no reason for Gale and Dewey to live. And Hicks for that matter. Courtney Cox understood this but I guess they were afraid to tick off the audience.

Scream 4 is also Williamson's version of Scream 3 pretty much before the script leaked and went through a ton of re-writes. A lot of the ideas from Scream 4 were ideas from Williamson's original script for part 3. I do enjoy part 4 better than 3 FYI.

tylerc904, you should spoiler tag your thoughts since it gives away some twists and turns. Preserve the fun of the movie/series for future viewers who haven't seen it yet.

I only like the first Scream. Very well done, didn't care for any of the sequels.

I hope we can get the first one in it's uncut form on BD someday.

So the current Blu has the theatrical cut? I am not too familiar with the different edits for the film, and where they can be found.

And Bob & Harvey had Ehren Kruger come in and rewrite him all over again, causing Kevin to never want anything to do with Scream again. Sad really, but I still enjoyed Scream 4 more than 3, but far less than the first two.

I believe in Willliamson’s original Scream 3 script Sydney was gonna die in the beginning sequence & no that’s not a spoiler.

Yes, the current blu is the R-rated theatrical. An unrated version featuring extra gore that was cut by the MPAA was released on laserdisc and VHS back in the day. Unfortunately, it has not seen the light of day since.

[Show spoiler]She killed a returning character, calling your point into question. Metcalf isn't in 3 and Randy's sister simply has a "knowing" VHS of Randy (which, in the world, seems like it's communicating live because he anticipated their knowing the questionable nature of someone he referred to - which makes relative sense since he was always very meta-"aware" compared to the rest).
Hence why I liked the twist in Scream 2 better, it’s essentially a revenge flick.

Oh I got one reply to my first email. Said they were gonna take care of the problem. Then some time went by and I started emailing again and it's been crickets ever since

I have been waiting on an order that should have shipped over a month ago and i've emailed them at the start of Dec and then again a week ago and have heard nothing back, so yeah the customer service is horrible, and the company has gone from one of my favs to one of the worst at least when it comes to these issues. They sure know how to take your money right away but cant even at least give you a status update on whats going on with orders etc.

Sad to say it feels good to know I'm not the only one. I know it's that time of year and they've been struggling with that one presser going out of business but even simple communication would go a long way at this point
