Most buyers know where they want to redeem. If you're merely selling, then the important part you might need to know is how to test a code.

You can use an incognito browser as mentioned above, or simply always make sure you are never logged in (assuming you have a digital account in any of these: Vudu, Movies Anywhere (MA), FandangoNow (FN)).

In all of those, it's basically the same procedure:
1. while logged OFF, put in the code
2. procedure with "redeem"
3. if the site asks for a log-in, code is good. If says "invalid" or "something's wrong", it's either a typo, or the code is used

If you use Vudu to test you only find out if the code is valid or not. If you use MA you find out if valid AND you find out if HD or SD or 4K (UHD). The problem is that not all studios take part in MA, for example Lionsgate, so you can only test those in Vudu.

But since you have the code slips, this might not be so much of an issue. Basically this:
If the code slip has printed "digital HD", the code should redeem HD. If the code slip has printed only "digital", it will redeem SD. HD codes come from BDs, SD codes from DVD.

Many (but not all) DVD codes were upgraded to HD: Warner (can be tested in MA) and Lionsgate (cannot be tested in MA)

Practically every buyer on this site will know what to do, where to redeem, mainly you just need to indicate if you have SD or HD codes. You don't need to give them the code slip instructions.

One important thing to know is that Paramount codes are UV and iTunes. If the person redeems on the Paramount site, that will kill the dual redeem. If you make sure the buyer redeems in Vudu, then iTunes would still be good (or iTunes first, then Vudu). Other codes were (and still are) both UV and iTunes, but because of changes, sometimes hard to predict which ones.

If you're advising your buyers, newer Warner and Sony codes often direct you to use MA, but do not. Use Vudu for those codes, as the person redeeming gets both UV and MA rights. If the person redeems in MA, they ONLY get MA rights. But that would be buyer knowledge/preference.

There is a way to test iTunes, but it involves having an much older version still installed. I can't really tell you how to do it as I don't have iTunes at all.

Wow, thanks for the detailed information. Helps a ton. Appreciate it.

I have slips that are all from Bluray and 4K that only state Digital Movie. There is a chance those could be in SD?

I just tested Justice League, the slip just says Digital Movie but MA says 4K.

Your best bet is to list the movie with it's source, for example "Saving Private Ryan from 4K Blu-ray" or "Gladiator from Blu-ray" rather than saying "Digital HD". If it's from 4K Blu-ray, you can say "not sure that it redeems in 4K or not but this movie is from a 4K Blu-ray." In your post, make a suggestion that the buyer checks 4ksheet.com for possible 4K redemption options from 4K Blu-rays.

This means, the digital movie can be redeemed in 4K. It's a 4K movie download.
