May 19th, 2009 will mark the re-release of T2 on Blu-Ray. Two editions have been announced, a standard Skynet edition that will include all 3 cuts of the movie (the extended special edition will be available via an easter egg on the menu) and a much more expensive 6 disc limited edition that will include the Skynet edition Blu-ray, Ultimate Edition 2-Disc DVD and Extreme Edition 2-Disc DVD, and a digital copy disc.

Lionsgate Films Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced that they will release 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day - Skynet Edition' to Blu-ray on May 19th. Additionally, Lionsgate will release the 'Limted Edition T2 Complete Collector's Set', a six disc set which will feature the Blu-ray release of the film along with Extreme Edition DVD and Ultimate Edition DVD versions of the film and a digital copy.

Terminator 2 Skynet Edition on Blu-ray Disc and the Limited Edition T2 Complete Collector's Set will be available for $29.99 and $174.99 respectively on May 19, 2009, coinciding with the theatrical release of Terminator: Salvation and the DVD release of the Schwarzenegger DVD Collection.

I hope the first Terminator gets a double-dip. I still refuse to pick up the Blu-ray version until it includes the mono track.

And lossless on T3 wouldn't suck too much.

I would hope this has the 3 versions of the movie the Ultimate Edition DVD had. I too held off buying the first 2 movies because of the way the DVDs were constantly being re-released. This movie's F/X are still amazing, especially for a movie over 15 years old, and it will look great on a proper Blu-ray.

Yeah, unless they've been remastered, really kind of pointless in my opinion. I'm not big on the extra's, but I know others might be and find this a great find.

I bet they are redoing and re-releasing the 1st and 3rd as well. The 3rd has no lossless so they could rectify that situation! Looks like I need to sell my 1-3 off and get these!!!

ah figures..I've had the JP T2 steelbook for about a month. That encode is AVC with Dolby TrueHD. I don't think I will double dip.

However I don't own any Blu-ray version of T1 or T3. So if they re-release those I'd buy them.

I wouldn't pay this much for a movie even if Arnold came personally and delivered it to me.

Gonna buy the regular $20 edition.

I'm not ruling out the "Endo Skull" version until I see it.... but there aren't many special editions I buy solely based on packaging (Casablanca is one such exception)
