It'll be interesting to see how this goes, I believe all IE content is 10+ content? If that's the case it may be a better purchase decision to go with these variants until the studios start offering both dynamic HDR flavors like the new Robin Hood. That way fans of these movies can get the best possible HDR presentation if they went with 10+ and not DV.

Always in motion is the future, natch, and perhaps the reason why there's no 4K disc listed at all for Alpha is because they're going to release it as an IE disc first up. But for Venom? Doing another 4K disc release so soon after the first? That's just weird...but then so was releasing it on video barely two months after it left cinemas

Good luck with that.
I'm still betting Venom streamed, Alpha on disc (and another version streaming on FandangoNow).

IMAX enhanced does not depend on 10+ as their will be devices not supporting 10+ yet supporting IE, like the new Sony Z9G.

According to this article, Imax Enhanced titles include Venom, Spiderman Homecoming, and Jumanji: Into the Jungle.

Is that your only bases for the statement? I mean to say all IE content so far has been 10+ is true so far..to have a TV that cannot display the Dynamic data on IE disc...questions how it can be IE certified.

All IMAX Enhanced does for audio is boost bass and dialogue. It’s the equivalent of a loudness button. Who knows what it does to high frequencies.

That's what is more or less looking like and less video bells and whistles. Like Peter said the marketing for this has been terrible with the lack of information.

but for people who needs quotes

"At the show IMAX and DTS announced and demonstrated (WOW!) first IMAX Enhanced titles from Sony Home Pictures to be streamed and released on Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc: Venom and Alpha."

No - because it's already been said IE content does not rely on HDR10+

Same. I'm still looking forward to getting the larger aspect ratios for certain movies, but as a format it sounds more and more underwhelming and perhaps downright irritating. I guess I'll find out for myself if and when they release something interesting on disc. Hopefully the releases won't be DNR'd and edge enhanced to death.

Heh, I still reckon that means streaming for one (Venom) and disc for the other (Alpha)

I asked someone who is at CES. He's being told by a Sony rep, all IMAX Enhanced titles are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray as well.

I think the streaming only crowd have chosen to die on that hill sadly. Harder to admit when you're wrong I guess.

And Venom is already on 4K UHD.

Still, third hand information?

This is confusing to me. So, are films going to get two different 4K UHD blu ray releases? One as a standard release with HDR-10/DV and a "IMAX Enhanced" one that will have HDR-10+?

Again, "IMAX Enhanced" does not require HDR10+ , just DTS:X

But its still up in the air if every IE title will feature 10+, so far its 2 for 2. From further reading it is not mandated though.

No, CES for me. But there's a Dutch tech website at CES, where I dropped my question.

Meanwhile on YouTube there are CES IE interview clips. But I don't want to give them clicks. Haven't watch them yet.
