I’m just glad to see a lot of releases that aren’t double dips (especially frivolous double dips).

Those double dips of big stuff help them get in cash flow so they can do stuff like the brain that probably won't sell as big.

I'll gladly just not buy a double dipper I don't want and wait a little if that double dipper means they can keep putting out the oddball stuff I really want. And hell a lot of their double dip releases were welcome improvements over previous releases like the thing, creep show, return of the living dead, in the mouth of madness, etc.

It could be worse they could be insulting double dips like "Get Shorty", which has the exact same master as the MGM disc (despite the fact that it was advertised as a new transfer).

This. Hope they put out awesome CEs of Child’s Play 2 and 3 to go with part 1.

Cool announcements today!! I'm especially looking forward to The Brain

I would love for Scream to release a ''Massacre'' boxset containing the three Slumber Party Massacre movies + both Sorority House Massacre films and Hard to Die.

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea what 'The Brain' was, but this is definitely something I could see myself enjoy.

I doubt that'll happen now that the complete set has been released

That set came out in 2013, years before Shout did the CE for the first Child's Play. And considering the transfers could be better and the lack of bonus features, I'd say the sequels are easily double-dip material.

For whatever reason Universal won't let Shout access those films yet, but they just released the discs from the box set individually last year and there's nothing else they'd probably do with the films. I say it's only a matter of time now.

A Green Inferno Collector's Edition? Seriously? Can't help but think Eli Roth himself pushed for this one.

Well, it was a good run for April while it lasted...

I never got around to getting this one. This will be a blind buy.

Pretty recent film. Is this a new trend?

Maybe not Roth himself (though the limited edition of "signed" sleeves means he's involved somehow), but it definitely feels like this was part of some studio package deal "if you want X and Y, you've gotta take Z and do something with it."

Money wise, I usually only try to buy stuff I actually care about (with a blind buy here and there) anyway, so A release I don't like doesn't upset me at all. But, definitely puzzled as to how TF a Collector's Edition for a 3? year old movie... THIS 3 year old movie came to be...

(Checked, filmed in 2013, released Oct 2014, so, not even a full 5 years by the time it drops in April)

Really the Green Inferno is the collectors edition they announce. Who wanted that movie?

Yeah, studios are finding new ways to make money off releasing new films on Blu-ray one more time via collector labels before putting them out on 4K UHD.

This is as weird as Arrow putting out Crimsom Peak, but sure.

I didn't even think about that, but you're right. CRIMSON PEAK is even more recent as well (though in some ways a bit better received than GI).

I was hoping they'd announce Vice Squad for the perfect Studiocanal trilogy.

I actually enjoyed Green Inferno. Pretty brutal stuff.

Green Inferno was a decent watch, but not paying $30 for it. It's a $10 bargain bin purchase for sure. Might be interesting to hear some commentary about the filming locations? Think I'd rather see a collector's edition of Cabin Fever if anything but even that wouldn't be worth the $30.

On another note, must say the cover art is pretty cool.
