The TV Version is not included? While it omits a lot of scenes, it has some material not found in the theatrical cut:
https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=680773 It would have been great, if somethling like an extended cut (like the Ulysses Cut for Wateworld) was an option. |

The TV version is included in Koch's 2018 German Blu-Ray along with a really high bit-rate transfer of the movie. If you have region-free capability it's a much better package than Shout's release (not to mention, doesn't cost as much):
https://www.amazon.de/Vorhof-Paradie...8&s=dvd&sr=1-1 Surprising the Shout disc is priced so high when all it has are old publicity materials. Licensing from Universal must be pricier than other studios I'd imagine. |

I only just became aware of this movie's existence, and as a big fan of Stallone and pro-wrestling, I'm really keen to see this now.
With only 9 posts in this thread, I'm assuming this is a very little known about or revered movie. Question for what few fans in existence there are of this movie; Is there any interviews out there with Sly talking about the stuntmen that were slagging pro-wrestling off? I listen to a wrestling podcast and they were talking about this movie. The host, Jim Cornette, very briefly mentioned that Terry Funk told him that some of the stuntmen on set were standing in a corner snickering about phony pro wrastlin' and that Sly apparently chewed them out over it. I'd love hear to more about this! I have a lot of respect and love for stuntmen and what they do, so it was disappointing to hear such a story. There's plenty of tough stuntmen out there that took a whooping from *******s like Steven Seagal, but very few of them would have what it takes to be a pro wrestler. It was telling that they apparently stood off to the side snickering like kids rather than having the balls to go up to guys like Dick Murdoch, The Funks, Gene Kiniski or Ray Stevens. It would not have gone well for any of them if they did. |
