There is not much you can do, a plasma is most susceptible to image retention in the first 100 hours. Image retention is just a natural part of the first 1000 hours of a plasmas life. Permanent burn in is almost a thing of the past, better phosphors and protective software is in place in most newer televisions.
Some people will tell you to run a disc of static images to break it in, this is nonsense, the disc does nothing that normal use would not take care of. You may want to dial the contrast down when you receive it, the factories set it high for when their product is heading for bright show rooms etc. Find a comfortable level for yourself based on your viewing environment that will not cause you any eye strain. |
