Nice. Looks like UCF found a solid fill in QB for 2019. Milton is a near 0% chance of returning next season and it was obvious Mack was not the solution. Wimbush is a former 4 star recruit, with experience starting at a high level program and should fill in nicely.

Ex-Notre Dame starting QB Brandon Wimbush announces UCF as transfer destination

Last month, Stadium's Brett McMurphy reported that Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush would transfer from the program following the College Football Playoff. On Tuesday morning, Wimbush finally announced that he would complete his final year of eligibility at UCF. Wimbush made an announcement on his Instagram account with a video showing highlights of his time with the Fighting Irish before "flipping" to a UCF logo.

Wimbush started 12 games in 2017 and began the 2018 season as the starter but was replaced by Ian Book after three weeks into the season. However, Wimbush still has decent numbers as a starter, going 12-3 in 15 games. He threw for 719 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions this year, adding 256 yards and one touchdown on the ground. As the primary starter for coach Brian Kelly during the 2017 season, he threw for 1,870 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 803 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He has virtually no shot at being eligible for 2019. He doesn't fit any of the hardship requirements for immediate eligibility.

His attorney is going to go the hardship route first, but he is also pretty far ahead of schedule with his credits and is trying to graduate before the fall semester starts.

247 Sports says he's going to try to use Ohio State's coaching change as the basis for his waiver request.

The Ohio State transfer, who just finished his redshirt freshman year in Columbus, would appear to be an unlikely candidate for a waiver without any known hardships. But according to another source — this one close to the Martell family — he has "a better shot than you'd think."

Early indications are that Martell will try to use Ohio State's sudden coaching change, from Urban Meyer to Ryan Day, as grounds to be immediately eligible.

I can't imagine that working, coaching changes happen all the time, and in Ohio State's case they elevated the offensive coordinator to head coach so it's not like Tate won't fit in the new coach's system.

Evidently he took some college credits in high school and summer courses while at Ohio State.

We’re excited to add him to the competition in our QB room. He’s a pretty big talent. I definitely preferred him over Hurts.

Does the transfer portal make it easier for players to transfer? I never seen this much movement with transfers. I watched a interview with the Oklahoma 5 star QB Rattler, he was saying that Lincoln Riley told him they were not taking any transfers lol. So I assume his name will be in the Portal next.

The transfer portal makes it a little easier because there's no confusion about whether or not you can talk to a player from another school. It just seems like transfers in general are becoming more common as players want to start and aren't willing to wait, even if it means sitting out a year.

Austin Kendall, who was expected to compete for the Oklahoma QB job before they landed Hurts, wants to transfer to West Virginia where he'd be eligible right away as a grad transfer. However, Oklahoma is blocking the move because they won't release players to another Big 12 school, so if Kendall chooses West Virginia he'd need to sit out next season or appeal to the NCAA for a waiver.

NCAA transfer rules are a joke. Coaches walk out on their program before the season even ends to take a new job and yet players need a "hard ship." A players should have the ability to switch programs in between school years whenever they please, just like coaches.
