I'm so damn old, spending most of my younger years as a rock musician that my hearing is shot. Totally dead above 9Khz! So it all the Dolby/DTS/Atmos is lost on me. Have only Stereo (oh, the horror!). But KILLER stereo. All Alnico pre '80's custom built (by me, when I could hear) JBL refrigerator sized speaker systems tied to two Crown 600 watt amps. (I inherited the bands P.A.!!!!)

Hi Warren,

My brother the same as far as high school and college playing classical music. The real problem was that he would blast his records at a high volume, saying one could not listen to classical music at low volume. He was the same with headphones. So now he has lost most of his hearing in one ear.

Finally imported Jumaji Welcome to the Jungle 3D. Really enjoyed the movie, laughed a lot, probably more than I should have. The 3D was not that overwhelming, but there were some real nice 3D shots here and there. Could have been a little stronger. I know you can't see me, but I just gave it a thumbs up.

Last weekend, i watched Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning in 3D, i thought the 3D is great, i was scratching my head a bit because i still don't get why SONY didn't give this a blu ray 3D release in the U.S. years ago, i felt they missed a huge opportunity to release this movie in 3D here in the U.S., this movie IMO is meant to be seen in 3D.

Watching this movie in 3D makes me think we need more action movies in 3D, so it was refreshing to see a action movie in 3D.

Metallica Through the Never. Best Buy still selling the 3D version on line.

Though my rock preference spans between Doo wop through Zeppelin, Chicago, Clapton, etc was eyeing this for a while. From what I read, it's a 3D must.

While to movie is okay, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was the IMAX 3D version.
Actually all the 3D DCP presentations at the theaters had the frame breaking and the aspect ratio change, not just IMAX version. Also the 2D blu-ray has 'em.

Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning looks very nice in 3D. The blu-ray in US is not only 2D, it's also the cut R version.

Most recently purchased: Jurassic Kingdom Fallen World (on sale on Amazon for $14.99). Heard the 3D was weaker - and still haven’t seen the first Jurassic World (in 3D or otherwise) yet - but wanted to get it while it was on sale. Not really looking at picking up too many other back catalog 3D titles at this point (have most all of the titles I want)… although I’m keeping an eye on both Skyscraper and Rampage in case they drop in price.

Most recently watched in 3D: Sangaree last week and Revenge of the Creature (corrected disc) this week. While I prefer more modern movies, it’s a nice change of pace to watch some classics every once in a while… and of course they look fantastic on a passive OLED 4K display.

Ordered Sanctum from Hamilton Bookseller......

Finally got around to watching King Arthur, legend of the Sword. It was pretty good projected at 175" diagonal. I flinched involuntarily several times from flying objects......spears, arrows, bodies!

@ Biss Skyler,

Were did you pick up Universal Soldier in 3D? JB Hi Fi doesn't list it and Amazon AU has no one shipping it to the US (right now).

Not a big fan of the movie in itself, but Life Of Pi 3D is truly 3D reference quality. The depth and use of 3D was among the best. Just wish the movie content was up to par.

DDDHouse.com has Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (3D+2D Blu-ray) (2013) (Region A) for $9.23 USD.
I bought it there in 2013 for $30.77 USD.

I hate scenarios like this when the 3D is fantastic but the movie itself isn't that great or vice versa.

The movie is not bad itself, just not my cup of tea. Same as Billy Lynn (same director lol): great quality but non-captivating story

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the link. Decided to order it. With shipping it only came out to $14.73. Checked eBay and this was the best total price available.
