Jake and Rooney in a Nolan film would be amazing.

Rooney Mara in a Nolan film would be quite interesting. They both blow my mind.

I'm very much looking forward to his new film.

Inception and Interstellar are some of my all time favorite movies. I love to say this every chance I get.)

Intersteller was practcally a break even if it wasn't for foregin markets. Pretty crazy to think about that.

Well, goes to show what the box tells us about quality.

Shane Carruth?

I could see him getting a great femme fatale performance out of Gadot.

Also, maybe get together with Pacino again while the guy is still amidst a hot streak.
Nolan is tallented enough to make a great movie using a bunch of B listers, I'll give you that.

on the topic of lead actors, bit of an obvious choice but I'd love to see him use Idris Elba. Man has presence and can hella act, and looks amazing in a suit... and I suspect suits are to Nolan what feet are to Tarantino
Idris is great. I'd love to see the sort of role that Nolan would offer him. And you're right: If he doesn't have presence, no one does.

I think he should find some way to work McConaughey and Hathaway together again.

Cast predictions? I'll say Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman and Michael Caine.

Hope he makes something like Inception again.

Which is why I gave up on even seeing his posts ages ago.

What I'm wondering is, how many posts will I have in this thread by the time this film comes out?

seriously though, I'd like to see him make some sort of dark apocalyptic movie with religious overtones. Along the lines of say, Knowing. Crossed with some Dan Brown-esque intrigue, secret societies etc so that the plot can be nice and overcomplicated. Throw in yet another strong-but-psychologically-damaged lead protagonist just for good measure. (Played by Idris Elba!)

... I'd pay to watch something like that.

That's dope!

It's about time we heard something. He peaked with Interstellar which I don't see being topped but anything he does will be gold.

I'm curious as to what we will get, but am I the only one who hopes one of these days he'll reign it in and do another smaller piece one of these days. Why does every one of his films have to be a huge scale event movie topping the last?

He's created a rod for his own back, although to his credit he hasn't -- yet -- fallen flat on his backside trying to outdo his previous effort. There are signs he's perhaps slipping a little bit, though, but that's probably just me.

He talked about this somewhere. He has the power to push the envelope by making films that bend genres. Arthouse films that work and treated as blockbusters (like Dunkirk which is a very experimental film). There's no middle ground anymore. Movies are either tentpole blockbusters or small indie films that usually fail at the box office. I personally think he should continue making big budget films that are very experimental.

He peaked with Memento. He has not topped that film, though others are on a similar plateau.

Interstellar doesn't feel unique, it feels like a variation and refinement of other SciFi films that came before it. Ones perception of this will be guided by ones exposure to other films.

While Memento feels a bit like a refinement of his own film Following, it achieves a director with a unique vision.
