I am interested in getting this as well. I have an Onkyo 605, which means I believe I have only 1 "out" which currently runs to my subwoofer. I have the following questions....

1) If I understand this correctly, I could get the quick connect package, along with the amp and wireless link kit and it would provide me with the Y splitter that I would connect to the Onkyo subwoofer out, and I would then run one wire to the subwoofer and another one to the amp from the Y splitter on the back of my receiver? I have an older Sony subwoofer that only has a single audio cable input and no left or right lines to run in. I was wondering if I could use this subwoofer, or I would need to upgrade?

2) If so, should the amp be close to the subwooofer (which is in between my 2 chairs in the corner) or closer to the receiver?

3) Also, with the wiring provided, how long are the cable runs?

Could anyone answer my questions? I really want to invest in these, but I am unsure if I have a receiver that I could use. The Amplifier Hookup Diagram does make it look like I can do this, but with my older subwoofer, I am not sure and I want to be before purchasing.

You should just be able to run a y splitter from the LFE out on your receiver running one side to your sub, the other to the LFE in on the kicker amp. Your sub set up will work just like it always has. Run the other end of the splitter to your buttkicker amp. The amp can be placed anywhere you want. Leave it with your audio gear.. or even mount it under your sofa.

Your gallery pics do not show what kind of seating you have. If you have more traditional heavy overstuffed type living seating and you really like to feel the bass...... Butt Kickers are probably the best option for you. However, if you have some seating designed for HT use and are just really looking for something to supplement the feeling you get from a sub..... you might want to look at some Aura Bass Shakers as well. I got a pair of them and a decent amp for about 1/3 of what a proper Butt Kicker set up would be for a pair.

Thanks robinandtami for your reply. So I assume that the Buttkicker LFE Kit that I have seen on Amazon and a few other sites includes everything I will need? I currently use a 24 foot audio cable from my receiver to the subwoofer, so can I still use this with the kit? It appears in the diagram that the one that runs to the subwoofer off the Y splitter that comes in the kit is shorter than that. If I can't use my current cable for the subwoofer, do you suggest going wireless? If so, how sensitive/reliable is the RF signal with the reaction on the Buttkicker? I have heard that it needs quite a bit of tweaking to get it right with the RF signal. Any recommendations? It appears I may need to get a longer one so that it will reach the subwoofer, but maybe I should go wireless?

I have the traditional overstuffed living seating (there are no pictures of the furniture as I was moving it around the day I took the pictures and wasn't sure where it would end up.) If I want to really feel the base, do you recommend also getting an extra Buttkicker Mounting Kit for the other couch leg? I appreciate the quick responses by the way, as I am starting to get pretty psyched and think I am going to pull the trigger on these....it seems to really add a whole new dimension to the HT experience!

Thought I would bounce this one time.....could somebody add their 2 cents about my above comments? I am soooo close to doing this, but I guess I need some self-assurance. Thanks in advance!

No need for anyone to reply. I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger. I found out the Y splitter is for you to connect the seperate audio cables for your subwoofer and the amplifier. So, I figured I would get a second 25' audio cable and run it to the amplifier so it can be next to the couch and subwoofer. I got the cable for only $2.47 with shipping from Monoprice....dang what a price! Now all I have to do is come up with a good reason for the wife as to why I needed to buy this....mmmm how about I play the daughter card and tell her that our 4 year old would love it for her Disney movies?

I have a mini-LFE and I love it. Anyone who is interested in one of these though, you will need a least one for each chair, or the regular LFE for a couch. I wish mine was more powerful, I got the mini because I already had an extra amp that was the right wattage. In order to have it turned up enough to feel it, sometimes in super load explosions I can feel it clipping a bit.
I think as long as you but some rubber isloators under the couch, your neighbors won't notice it at all.

I got my kit on saturday night, but I got a defective unit. I called Buttkicker and they are sending me out a new kit and should be here on Friday. Very good customer service. The setup only takes about 15 to 30min and you are good to go! Unfortunately I think I had a bad transducer. The Amazon kit is wireless so you don't need to run a cable from the receiver to the amplifier? You can set it up without the RF link but thats what makes this kit great. Secondly the kit comes with about 25' of 12 or 14 guage "really nice" speaker wire. I was really happy with the quality of the unit overall, just wished it would have worked

Well, I got the Buttkickers today!. Ordered them at 10:30 AM yesterday, and got them today without paying for shipping by using Amazon's free shipping. They were delivered in 26 hrs from the moment I hit the last key!

Anyway, wooowww! This is by far the best piece of "extra" equipment I believe I could ever buy! For $399 and 90 days with no int and no pmts, it was a no brainer. The thing is amazing. I had to fiddle with my receivers subwoofer output and then tweak the volume level and the high and low cutoff levels, but it works so well under my couch! I played Transformers, and it was so incredible, I actually found myself sort of ducking and then grabbing the side of the couch, believing I was the one about to wreck! Set up really only took about 30 minutes, but it took me another hour to figure out where I wanted my furniture to maximize the effect. All I am waiting for now is my 25' audio cable from monoprice so I can put the subwoofer and amplifier where I want them.

Anybody who might be interested or on the fence like I was...get this thing right away and increase your HT experience like you would never believe!!!
