I bought a Panasonic VIERA 50" TH50PZ85U from Newegg.com and not until today have I realized that it doesn't support 24p playback. This scared me to death and made my stomach hurt when I read that. Now after hours of reading articles it seems some people mention a flicker, some people say "o its great, I love it!"

I need to know what to do here. It shows up in the morning and I need to know whether I should keep it or send it back. Insert Problem #2. I found out also that Newegg seems to NOT allow a refund on it. What that means is that I might be able to exchange it for the 800U which allows 24p but at a great cost to me financially to send the 85U back, pay the difference on the 800U, and pay for the shipping on the 800U to get to me.

Is all this worth it? What should I do? Should I just keep the thing? Problem is if I don't get an answer from newegg before it shows up then I might be stuck with it forever unless I figure out a way to sell it, recoup my money, and rebuy the proper TV (still causing me to pay more anyways).

Also I would like to output my Final cut pro edits to my Plasma through a Blackmagic intensity card to preview them on the TV. Problem is I shoot in 24p, but if the bluray movies look ok on the TV, then my edits should I assume.

I don't know what to do...I feel really screwed here.

Ive got a Brand New LG Scarlett LCD 60mhz and ive got a PS3 which I use for Blu-Ray and what happens when I watch blu-rays the mhz drop to 24 so it should do the same with your tv but ive noticed at times when the camera is panning it kinda struters a bit so im going to to turn off the 24mhz and let it go at 60, Which I hear is better and does the trick so Il let you know if its better but maybe give it a go and see it runs at 24 which it should realy since most lcd and plasma tvs run higher at higher mhz but if it dosent just just ask for an exchange for the one that does
