I live in a part of New York where we get some pretty good Winters. Call me crazy, but I like to watch "Winter" themed films when we get snow like last week. But...

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's SOAWN, when the snow already melts
Who would've thought, it figures

You literally picked the one company that does it.

They generally redesign the site when new products launch.

It affects the rest of the site.

DarkForce's site stays the same.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that Amazon is going to take down its whole site while I list a used DVD on Amazon Marketplace. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Who cares if the site is down for a couple of days? Are ppl seriously ordering dark force movies so frequently that its a big deal they can't order a Blu-ray from them for a couple of days? Sounds like ppl are complaining just to complain (as seems the norm).

I think that part of the enjoyment of non discretionary spending is taking your money, picking out some films to purchase and doing so at that time. There are enough movies I haven’t seen and are available 24/7 that if I go to the Dark Force store and it’s closed, I’ll take my money to the Vinegar Syndrome site or Criterion. It’s nothing unreasonably reactionary, just a function of the hobby.

Yup, when I first heard about darkforce (I'm pretty new to the non-Criterion/Arrow/Kino boutique labels) I was in the middle of browsing and putting stuff in my cart when the site went down. After checking a few times over the next two days I gave up.

Well, that explains a lot! When are you going to be through so Alexa can order those chocolate strawberries for Valentine's Day delivery?

EDIT:

OK, ordered. Geez, Zarak, give me a PM before you do that next time.

Funny comments aside, he really does handle all the mailing at lightning speed and he needs time to get that done. The more orders we place, the longer the site is down. Granted, VS only does this with huge sales, but they take the site down for days or even weeks, while they set up piles of inventory and packing materials, based on their projected sales, and then ship everything out. DD doesn't have a staff large enough to man a large store, as VS does, in order to help him, so, it makes sense that he takes the DF site down to get a couple of days to catch up, when we all place a bunch of orders.

EDIT: As to the live feed, this thing is hilarious. Bill with a gun and he asks "Am I Safeway?" Couldn't help it, my husband called out "Walmart". Incidentally, I love Walmart. I know a few people who bought guns at Walmart.... Safeway.

BD-50 confirmed again. Theatrical cut from the best source available, a print. The original, long cut, from the original camera negative, 124 minutes long. An interview with a star....

That's not really that hard to do when he only gets a handful of orders because the store is down 95% of the time. But ever since the Big Cartel stores were blown to smithereens the new Dark Force store has taken on the full Code Red store antics.

That makes no sense. I used to work in a library where i packaged the books to go to other libraries. I also had to unpack the ones that arrived and scan every single book that came in or went. Furthermore, I had to search 4 floors of a library for each book. During the busy times (beginning and end of semesters) I would have at least 500 coming and and another 500 going out. Yet in a four hour shift I would manage to be done. Considering super limited editions of these movies still take days to sell out I can't imagine he's getting that many orders except after special releases.

Are you serious with this? It took you 28.8 seconds to find and package each separate book to go to other libraries or shelve them in your library? Are you from Krypton?

This reminds me of the other night when a woman got on TV after a presidential speech and claimed her father hitchhiked home every night from work, 30 miles, and often wasn't picked up and had to walk the whole way, 30 miles, even in the rain, which would take a healthy and grown man, on a clear night, about 7 and 1/2 hours to do.

What a whopper.... I like that though, it was funny. 28.8 seconds a book.

When you work smart... grab all the books at once etc, yea it takes no time. That was my point. Packaging an order takes almost no time

Can y'all do me a favor and not bump this thread again until there's an actual blu-ray to be ordered?

Okay, thanks, bye.

I got the point. It just such a fantastic way to put it, with such a perfect exaggeration. I believe you were good at your job but an average of 500 in 4 hours is just too much, for one person. Take the credit for the epic laugh you gave me.

But back to the issue, DD gets 200 orders out, often for only one item, in two days of work. That's printing labels and stuffing envelopes and organizing everything. That's really good for one item orders. With the new shipping scheme, it should cut down on those one item orders somewhat, getting people to combine.

Best line of the feed? You'd think it would be the singing but, "Yeah it is Kyle" wins the day. I don't know how they don't laugh more, at each other, doing these things.

And they are opening the store this weekend. Will post the announcement when I see it.

What's hard to believe? Maybe he was picking books for multiple orders at a time, economies of scale so to speak, which wouldn't require as much time if each order was filled individually. Actually, I've seen Walmart employees do the same when fulfilling grocery orders. But now that I mention WM, it reminds me that you mentioned earlier that your husband screamed out Walmart (I promise I won't ask what you were doing at that time).

Who are they talking about in the live stream about releases that cost $36? (From another company?)
Is he talking about Scream? (with the sexual slurs?)
Vinegar Syndrome sells for $25.00 with a slip.
