Reiner's a very good director. Also the story is interesting.
I have some doubts on the cast. Love all of them, but they don't seem the right actos for this kind of movie. Or the one I'm expecting.

W.H. doesn't take that many dramatic roles but he is very capable for this.

Just an average movie. Felt and looked too much like a made for TV movie than a hard hitting movie about journalism along with the feeling of being too obvious in the subject along with its heavy handedness, which felt way too cheesy.

I haven't seen it yet, but i don't mind the heavy handedness in theory. I mean, I remember this whole thing like it was yesterday. Glued to the news, etc.

But that is also my problem with it. Love the cast. Love Reiner. But it seems like it just happened, to me anyway. The whole damn thing was a fiasco from the beginning, and a lot of us knew it right off the bat. So, not sure I want to sit through whatever the running time is and re-live something that I remember so clearly.

It's different when it's something like All the President's Men or The Post or even Spotlight -- I know all about those stories, but I wasn't glued to them while they happened. Well, the Nixon stuff I was too young to actually know what was going on. I said in another thread that I love movies based on real events. But here, I'm not entirely sure that I'm going to learn anything, as opposed to just feel like I'm going through something I went through 16 years ago, and hated then.

But we'll see. Like I said, I love the cast.

The cast was indeed solid but the heavy handedness in this movie came off as cheesy bordering on parody.

The event itself was heavy-handed as I remember it.

Looks like another history rewrite with a bad cast. I'll pass.

I'm not going to argue about whether it's a re-write or not. Whatever.

But ... bad cast? Are you serious?

Tommy lee- likeable but mediocre at best.
Mil-Jo - queen of the zombie genre?
Woody Harrelson - bad actor, no ifs, ands, or buts.
Rob Reiner. Somewhere less than mediocre.

Yes, I'm serious.
