The extended version was a horrible transfer and worse yet for once I agreed with the editing decisions for the theatrical release. I'd rather have both versions on the disc.

Might be very safe to do so, it would have been a buy for sure but quality was so bad on those 2 DVD release I will be doing like you, will wait for a review before buying

I haven't seen this in sooooooo long. If I remember correctly it's one of the few half way descent Kevin Costner films. May consider picking this up.

Really glad to see this coming out! I've been hoping for this one. I just hope they do a better job than they did on the dvd. It's by far one of the worst dvds I have as far as both picture and sound.

I just realized something -- has there EVER been an extended release version of a Kevin Costner film that was better than the theatrical?

DANCES WITH WOLVES - no...the extended cut ruins all the surprises. We wind up ahead of Dunbar, knowing more than he knows, for most of the movie.

ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES - no...the new scenes are tasteless and pointless, unless you want to know how depraved the relationship is with Alan Rickman and "the Crone"

JFK - no (laughably no -- among other issues, there is a scene where "our friend Clay Shaw" is mentioned as a suspect in a scene, but that scene that took place later in the screenplay but was moved up prior to the discovery of Shaw in the editing process, and so the line in the extended cut makes no sense)...

WYATT EARP - Release on laserdisc, don't know if the mega-version has ever come to DVD or Blu-Ray

WATERWORLD - A true "uncut" extended version has never been released. The censored "ABC cut" has been made available, to much disappointment

Definitely picking this up the first day. It's a great movie and it's funny because I was just thinking about this movie recently and when it might come out on Blu.

I'll buy this one on release day if it has a great transfer & lossless sound.
