Gah, this is going to mean late, round-the-clock refreshing/Facebook watching for me tonight. I really, really want a copy of Butcher, Baker. I've had the DVD for several years now but am a big fan and want to upgrade on this. I hope they're not just stringing us along and that they actually open the store, though it's Saturday, which is usually when they open it according to their standard M.O.

Lol I think I saw your comment on there. I hate these half-baked cryptic answers, but I'm assuming they will likely open the store tonight—they did the same thing last weekend, posting vague responses about opening it, but sure enough they did. I'm just going to have to stay glued to my computer tonight waiting. I really want a copy of Butcher, Baker and am not willing to pay $100 for it on eBay.

Let me guess. Bill is too sick to continue running Code Red so The Wrestler has "agreed" to take over the day-to-day reins (like that wasn't his agenda from day 1). From now on, every new release will be marketed as a first-come first-served Limited Edition sold at random times and only for a few minutes at a time. Promotional material will include, but not limited to, breathless proclamations, live feeds of Bill dressed in a banana costume slumped over in an office chair muttering obscenities and you shilling for the label on two threads. Thank goodness Jungle Holocaust was released. That was the last Code Red title I wanted.

I just saw a response from DF to a Facebook comment in which they said they're not opening the store tonight—then again, knowing their antics, this could mean the plan is to open it at 12:00am "tomorrow." It's hard to know what to believe.

Bill was just live, via DF facebook. He can squeeze his hand now, quite a bit for days, not a month. His voice is much stronger. He's clearly getting some good care. The movement of the hand is a good sign, that the decompression is allowing some restoration of movement. Very glad to see Bill doing better, although I'm sure he feels it is going too slowly, that is an excellent amount of improvement, given what he's been through. He got a very nice phone call wishing him well and thanking him for all his releases.

Yeah, I got The Redeemer a year or so ago from Screen Archives, so that one is off my list. Butcher, Baker though is a big one—I love that movie dearly, and while the DVD looks great, I know the Blu is better.

I don't think that was live....just the 2nd part of the already recorded interview, however he's supposedly going to be live sometime this weekend (and DF apparently counts President's Day as part of the weekend, so could even be tomorrow).

Go back to like page 4 of this thread and you will see some of the same posters have been peddling conspiracies and negativity for like a year. I have continued to point these falsehoods out and correct them, which has made me quite unpopular (oh noes)!

I noticed some are also intolerant of DeFalco's personal traits, specifically because he has an offbeat personality and dark sense of humor - seems to be some resentment of his physique as well, oddly.enough.

Well, I'm officially a relic. Remembering the aftermath of the rights era, when we hit the seventies and people were allowed to be who they were, decorate their homes the way they wanted, select careers and lives that suited them, all thanks to the hippies and loose teenagers, and, then, we big-picture kind of people turned our attention to securing equal rights, legally, for our friends in a variety of other communities, all in the hope of building a future that was less critical and less demanding of uniformity and perfection....

And now, here we are, in 2019, and we're back to the 1950s where everyone gets to be henpecked by the endless criticisms of the way they look, their home decor and general failure to keep up with the Whosits.

I'm just wondering how many years everyone on this board will need to finally accept DD for who he is and get over their issues with him, whatever those issues happen to be, so they can enjoy some movies. Sometimes I can't believe what I read here, when people still complain about Bill, all these years later, as though he's going to wake up and declare "you're all correct, I suck, everything I do is wrong", molt and transform into Walt. Walt is great, like Bill, with a wonderful company and a slew of fantastic releases. He is also the man who screwed up the most important Scorpion release, ever, for me, David & Lisa. End of the world? Not even close. When everyone here freaked out over The Carrier, I watched my copy of David & Lisa and thought, "he should have sued these screwballs for screwing up his release" and then moved on with my life. I don't feel the need to belittle the man for a mistake. Mistakes happen and we all make them....

The point? Isn't this a fan board?

Given the intense focus on the CR SoaWN release, well earned, given how great it looks, and how hard Bill worked on this one, for so many years, I'm assuming that he will be announcing some information about DF's next release, LV/FE, after the next batch of SoaWN goes up. It is supposed to be released in February/March and he announced it was being pressed two or three weeks ago now, it seems. Really looking forward to it, on a nice 50GB disc.

At the end of the live stream, Bill says he had to buy BBNM to avoid lawsuit. Does that means he owns it in perpetuity? Could be more copies pressed perhaps?
