It's an upgrade title, they released it previously on DVD.

I know. But I'm hoping/speculating that the upgrade might be a sign of some deal for other Mamet films.

Disagree.

Then again, I'm rocking out to the soundtrack to La La Land which many people dislike. So I won't try and make a point.

Now that La La Land is on basic cable I've actually seen some of it.

They also released Homicide on DVD, and I'm hoping for an upgrade to Blu for that one as well.

The Heiress will be a definite buy. It will be great to see more Montgomery Clift, as well.
In addition to The Snake Pit mentioned earlier, I'd also recommend My Cousin Rachel available from Twilight Time. Lovely actress

Maybe I'm just impatient, but it seems like Criterion is dragging their feet about getting the Warner titles out. I really hope that they start coughing up two or more Warner films every month for the rest of the year.

Criterion’s made a fair amount of its’ bones by releasing classic samurai films (ie: Seven Samurai, Samurai Trilogy, Yojimbo, Three Outlaw Samurai), and have done great job with the releases. So they already have a built in fanbase (and buying base) for the films, would love to see Criterion to release the 1999 samurai film, the modern classic: Samurai Fiction

Yes, more samurai films! I'll have to watch SAMURAI FICTION in some form.

It looks like Arrow may not be releasing any more Kinji Fukasaku yakuza films, so it would be great if Criterion started doing those (there are plenty that Arrow didn't release). In fact, any yakuza movies would be welcome from Criterion, especially Hideo Gosha's VIOLENT STREETS, which would make sense considering they have the rights to several of Gosha's other films (THE WOLVES, BANDITS VS. SAMURAI SQUADRON, HUNTER IN THE DARK) and released THREE OUTLAW SAMURAI. Come with the Gosha, Criterion! Maybe forego the next '90s French romantic drama that twenty people on Earth care about and release a Gosha box set.

I feel like no one talks about Samurai Fiction ever these days..At this rate, I would love for anyone to put it out on BD.

Love the Lynch artwork for BV as it is, but would love for them to do reversible artwork like Shout Factory and a few others have done over they years with their cases. Trouble is dont know if Criterion will use the Plastic case with insert-able art or the cardboard digipacks they have done of late.

Along those lines, I'd like to see Criterion do Yoji Yamada's 'Twilight Samurai.' I thought it was a really lovely and touching movie. Sadly, the video quality of the Twilight Time release is not good at all. I don't believe that it sold very well though, so I'd imagine it would be unlikely to ever get another release.

TT’s disc is encoded in the wrong colour space, if your player and tv combo lets you change the colour space to RGB, the disc looks good.

I generally can't stand Criterion's original cover artwork, so it's always refreshing (and a major relief) when their original art looks extremely simplistic, like their new BLUE VELVET cover. I hate it when they use a random still from the movie (e.g. McCABE & MRS. MILLER) or what looks like slapdash one-off scrawlings by a self-important hipster (MIKEY & NICKY). The simpler the better, where Criterion is concerned. If they're going to continue utilizing sub-par original artwork, then yes, they should absolutely offer reversible covers with original one-sheet designs on the flip side.
