I'm so confused. So what was this "3-day monster weekend" that is going to rock the cult video world off it's foundation? Wasn't the store closed all weekend?

Nah, you must've misunderstood. It was actually just Demon Dave and the, ahem, Dark Force "minions" on a three-day Monster Energy drink binge jamming out to The Monster Mash and belting through 2003's Monster, all three seasons of the 80's horror anthology series Monsters, and Pixar's Monsters, Inc.

I'll see myself out.

Did the store ever open? Sunday's Livestream was depressing as hell.

They didn't watch "Little Monsters" or the Macaulay Culkin flick "Party Monster" during this Monster Weekend?

Nope. The store never opened.

As for the live stream, I lasted about a minute. I don't need to be that up close and personal with Bill, though I certainly wish him well.

My god, I wish they’d shut their dumbasses up and release something or at very least just open the store so people can buy SOAWN. I mean, Dark Force is a Blu-ray label, right? It’s been amazing to watch some of their most loyal sycophants turn against them because of all SOAWN and Facebook BS

Can't be right 100% of the time but I'm close!

Demon likely didn't get as much shipped from backlog as he thought he would by Monday PM.

DD is waiting for LV/FE from the factory, as it were. He'll be releasing it as soon as it's ready. MMI is looking amazing but not quite finished with correction, if I remember correctly. Point Doom, I believe, was farther down the pipeline and I don't think he's given us an update on that, given how early it is on that one. Looking forward to all of those.

As to Code Red, Bill got out Swinging Barmaids, Steel Arena, Street Law and Screams of a Winter Night, all looking amazing, all stellar releases, all while dealing with ever declining health and just in the last few months. If I were Bill, I'd be watching TV, griping in my sweet voice, in a manipulative manner, with comments like "oh, I don't need anything, I'm fine here in my bed, we're becoming good friends this bed and I, you go have a nice day", etc, making people cook for me and do the cleaning, possibly eliciting the purchase of no-occasion gifts. So, basically, why are people complaining? The man is still working. Bill is still working, on purpose. I'm not even guessing on that, it's confirmed, God love the man, still working, on releases, getting releases out, more movies. All the complaining.... I just don't get it.

PS I’m not one of the people complaining about not being able to buy SOAWN. I already got my copy. I just feel for those that have their browsers constantly tuned to the DF FB in hopes of scoring a $32 Blu-ray. I mean, my god, the posts just keep getting more and more cringe. “Talk of torture and demonic creatures lurking around in the wee hours, perhaps even some paranormal activity” “Bananaman Bill is in the THE HAUNTED HOSPITAL”. My hat literally flew off I cringed so hard.

Sometimes it’s nice to be banned from a labels page tbh

Old boy just needs to settle down and only post when it is absolutely necessary

I asked him on Facebook if he would open the store during the day. He said “The dark forces don’t operate during the day.” Makes perfect business sense to turn down customers.

The truth is he either needs to hire more people or give up his other line of work if he wants to run the label like one of the other major labels. I think right now it's just him and one other person working part time.

But, if he wishes to keep the label more of a side project, then he might not have any choice but to run it as currently to keep costs under control.

So really depends how big DF wants to get, which will determine their next moves as a company.

Business doesn't care about feelings only about the bottom line.

Who needs customers when scalpers can keep you flush with cash?

Even so with his current model he is losing out on potential sales. Possibly could have sold 1000 or more by now instead of 500.

But hes running Dark Force as a low overhead side business it seems. And that is fine if he wants to keep it that way - but he has the potential to take it to the next level now.

It's just a question if he wants to put that time and investment to grow this particular business or instead rather keep it small which he might prefer.

If he handles more Code Red titles like this then I’ll probably stop buying them. Shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to buy a movie.

Dave was doing just fine with the old cartel. It was almost always up, and it was nice to be able to browse titles whenever I wanted.

I understand that SOAWN has been a crazy situation and he's struggling to keep up with orders, so I'm willing to chalk this up to company growing pains.

Hopefully everyone who wants to get a copy of this flick will be able to do so in the future.

Yep , I think the big difference is that SOAWN is the first title whose sales have greatly overwhelmed his capacity for the way he was running the business pre-SOAWN. Now its decision time, as he has the momentum right now to expand the business.

Could add a vinegar syndrome-esque subscription model offer with new releases at big discount to help get him some upfront cash to grow the business right now while also giving his consumers a no-hassle way to get the new DF/CR movies at a good price, without the pressure of being swamped when the new pressing drops. I trust that DF would do right by the subscription, too. Dave is definitely unique and strange (not a bad thing at all), but seems a good Demon overall that would get the customers their subscription items.

I'm done with this two bit side show amateur hour crap. Even his mouthpiece on the board can't tell when the store is open. Some of us have to be up early in the morning to work and can't stay up until 2 am clicking the refresh button to hurriedly purchase a copy before the the scalpers take whatever measly amount is left. Code Red's transfer has been "available" online for months now and that's where I'll see it. Instead I'll take my money and put it towards titles I want from another label that I can order from at my own convenience.

They were likely considered, until The Demon realized that Howie Mandel and club kids were jabroni shit, BRO.
