I have always supported Code Red in the past, and I have always enjoyed the discs that they release.

However,

If I wanted to get jerked off, then I would go to a massage parlor.

The current business tactics are nonsense. The unpredictable open hours for the website are nonsense. The Blu-ray bundles are nonsense. The anti-scalping rants are nonsense, because this current business model encourages scalping.

I admittedly get sucked into it, because I tend to buy more Blu-rays than I have time to watch and stockpile them for the future. I have to remind myself that the movies I want to see will always be around in some form or fashion when I want to buy them at some point later on.

I want Forced Entry, but I don’t want to refresh the site page in the wee hours of the night for it.

He was an amateur wrestler, not a pro wrestler. I met a Canadian who did MMA before guesting on Battlestar. I met another Canadian with the same backstory. One was what they call "legit", pictures and all kinds of things to prove what he was. The other was an amateur who could probably kill me, and I'm crafty and know how to drop anyone in a second. His lack of professional career didn't make him not a fighter. When asked if they ever fought each other, they seemed to agree that they were both proficient. So, again, amateur wrestling as part of a man's career in sport doesn't carry with it the same kind of proof as what you are looking for but a lack of proof doesn't erase a man's history. He did all kinds of that stuff. As a person who doesn't care, I couldn't even list it. That doesn't mean he didn't do it. I wish we could move on from this.

Again, it is the same business model. If DF hadn't gone so hard at the advertising, SoaWN would have sold a few dozen copies in a few days at Bill's cartel opening. Anyway, they are doing things the same way with the releases. They just have more advertising power behind them. It is hard for healthy people to understand, first, that being ill often brings out all kinds of reactions including doing things just to be doing something and changing the way you do something just to make it feel different or even stick to somebody who ticked you off, a sort of "I'm done with this crap" reaction.

But, there is that second prong of being physically very ill but mentally capable. Bill is on dialysis. Two months is the absolute maximum time it could take to remove all removable toxins from his body via this method, leaving only a bit that can't be removed, leaving him as close to himself as he can be, as it were. If at that point, he is still working with DF, then hopefully people will stop questioning his ability to make his own decision.

Thing is, after a couple of weeks, you are pretty much yourself again, mentally, even though the body is greatly weakened. This is probably the source of the issue people are having. They see physical weakness as mental weakness. Given time and Bill's own explanations, there will still be people who insist that he is not capable to make his own decisions. Older people face this all the time, particularly disabled older people. You're not going to change their minds if they think Bill can't think for himself.

Just make sure you stay away from those Parlors in Florida... they've got a list of names and no one wants to see "The Great Owl" amongst them.

As for the sales practices put fourth by DF... it's evident that this line of sales has to be working or else it would have changed. What I still don't understand is why a "pre-order" (and I use that term lightly) list hasn't been established to allow everyone that wants a copy to simply order a copy. DF can still choose to ship them in batches of 25 - 50 if need be and could also choose to accept payment only after they are ready to do so, but in this regard at least everyone that signed up should be able to obtain a copy. Just be up front that their may be a substantial wait before an order is processed and keep an eye on the total number of orders placed so as not to exceed the number of pressed copies, but overall this should alleviate the major complaints people have. The store could stay closed as needed, orders could still ship at a snails place, but at least the folks wanting/trying to place an order could do so.

1) Other Label (couldn't resist)

2) Same unpredictable hours we saw before, just with advertising causing people to actually buy titles.

3) They are absolutely encouraging scalpers. A hard limit of 2 per customer is the only solution to this problem. Unfortunately, that means actually placing a hard limit of 2. People might revolt.

4) Ask him for a pre-order option. If enough of us do, he just might do it.

you know things are bad when OWL comes in here and makes a post like this one. I don't think I've ever seen a post than even hints of negativity from him before.... personally I'm not going to play these games with labels such as this one. If I get the movie down the road from say Hamilton Books or something like them great... if I don't then oh well.. I've got tons of movies to watch.. and tons of movies yet to buy from other companies....

Certain forum members don't like Dark Force, so they are capitalizing on Bill's health issues and the way Bill is choosing to handle them with black humor - through the Dark Force social/store platform, since Bill has none of his own - as a springboard to drum up outrage against Dark Force and satisfy their own distaste for the label.

Quite transparent really, as there is literally zero evidence that Bill is doing anything against his will - rather, plenty of evidence he is handling bad news with humor and trying to make some cash at the same time. A man being exploited by someone else does not don a banana costume and livestream autograph diapers to sell to fans - just doesn't happen. That's simply black humor and nothing more - to suggest that this would somehow be a route of exploitation (other than self-exploitation by choice) would be bizarre.

But keep on with the evidence-free faux outrage mob, par for the course for this thread. When any of you get even a tiny miniscule shred of proof that Bill is actually being exploited, feel free to let us all know.

My post had nothing to do with business model. It was in reply to kraven's post who was criticizing my statement that Bill's health issues were not being exploited by another party. This may have confused some as kraven failed to use the quote function as many would when replying.

It is not out of the question for a limited edition item to get a standard edition down the road (sometimes even through Kino). In this case they could drop the theatrical cut, for instance. Or they could change the cover art, etc. Has happened before to other Code Red titles.

It's just a matter of how long it will take for that to happen after the LE sells out.

I've also suggested a preorder system, it would help alleviate the shipping deadlines
