Any plans for an official review of this movie in the near future?

Awesome movie.
It is moody and vibey and plays out well. The tonality swings back and forth like a pendulum and all principles are dead on their game. AND...they are into Spanish guitar playing...what more could you want. |

On the box it states that its 5.1, but while I was playing it on my PS3, it displayed was only doing 3.1. I triple-checked the menu to see if it was selectable and it was not. They are intentionally misleading.

Agree. Great movie, I liked it just as much as Match Point (Woody's previous film) so much so I took advantage of BB's sale this week and purchased it for $19.99. Not too happy with the audio when playing said movie. My dirt cheap POS receiver doesn't perform as well when having to play quieter, dialogue driven audio tracks, so I plan to upgrade it sooner rather than later.

I watched this BD last night and noticed some scenes to be extremeley blurry. I did not know if this was the director's intent since the chararters were drunk during most of the scenes that were blurred. Maybe it was my TV or PS3 but I hope not. Any input?

The sound is what it is.... Mr. Allen is not a fan of modern surround sound and purposely mixes his films in mono. The fact that this is actually three channel is a step above anything he's done before...
With the notable exception of 2001, Stanley Kubrick also preferred mono mixes over more complex mutli-channel presentations. |

Not necessarily... Match point was a thriller and this is more of an exploration on sexuality and relationships. Both are well written and have that Woody Allen flavour. Personally, I prefer Match Point, but VCB is still exceptional, albeit different.
