Default [Rumor] WB Reportedly Developing New “Constantine” Series, With Matt Ryan in Mind to

After just one season, NBC pulled the plug on the Matt Ryan-starring “Constantine” back in 2015, but Ryan’s portrayal of John Constantine proved so popular that the end of the series sure didn’t mean he was done playing the character. Subsequently, he voiced the character for a CW Seed animated series, and also reprised the role on “Legends of Tomorrow.”

But could Ryan’s Constantine be returning with another live-action series entirely his own? We Got This Covered reports today that Warner Bros. is developing what their sources tell them is a “full-blooded new Constantine show,” and they add that WB wants Matt Ryan to star.

The site goes on to speculate that if “Constantine” is revived, it could find a home on either the DC Universe streaming service or on The CW as part of their “Arrowverse.”

We’ll let you know if we hear anything further on this one.

Kind of sounds like WB doesn't know what they're doing with their wording. It can't be a full blooded new Constantine if Matt Ryan's in it, and if Matt Ryan is in it, that automatically makes it Arrowverse. They make a big deal about TV and film characters but having two versions of Matt Ryan's Constantine would be just as confusing.

Personally, I liked Constantine more than 90% of the Arrowverse so I'd like it to come back... but now that they've merged the two, I would want it to stay in the Arrowverse but could do better on DC Universe. If they could keep it set in the Arrowverse but not have it on CW then that'd be the best option IMO.

They should have did this in the first place instead of sticking him in Legends. Hope they follow through with this, it would give me a reason to subscribe to their streaming service.

There are two versions of Matt Ryan's constantine. Arrowverse and Animated movie version.

Also would be great to see Constantine show possibly comtinue where to left off. Hoping its on CW that way it will get a blu ray release. Not sure what it chances will.be on DC streamimg service. But its kinda hard to see this on CW when they have supernatural and now legaices. That would be 3 shows that are close to being the same.

Would love this to happen. Matt Ryan is Constantine and it sucks the show was cancelled and he got stuck on legends.

Well, his series wasn't even a full season. It abruptly ended when he had not finished the story arc.

So I can only assume it will continue off after LoT since its own series on NBC never got a true ending plus I wonder will which cast members will return. Either way I am sure this will be on DC Universe streaming if want real Constantine/Hellblazer not sure why he still can't be part of Arrowverse does everything with TV-MA content because a issue for a TV-14 shows it's not like you have to bring the MA content to TV-14 content.

Just like MCU I just don't get why keep the characters separate in MCU because of content is Deadpool going to be the same issue for X-Men universe under Disney even though Disney said they are okay Deadpool to be R-rated as long as it is under Fox.

Ehh so confusing could we just all get along.

To me it is not the same just because their is similarities in story and style but the content for Hellblazer is darker lets not forget the big joke about Constantine smoking as if it is some sort of crime and everything has to be so PC.

The only time I have noticed Supernatural go all dark was during Yellow Eyes and Lucifer arcs beyond that it usually pulls itself back season 1-4 for Supernatural were a darker seasons especially the short season 2, sad that Supernatural can't even get back to those funny episodes and Deans love for his Busty Asians. Miss the season with the giant suicide teddy bear lmao god that was hilarious.

With Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing on DC Universe, Hellblazer would fit right in.

And if they’d make a Shade series and/or an Animal Man series, they could get a cool Vertigo universe going on over there.

I wouldn't mind a Constantine show on DC Universe where we can get more mature material and Matt Ryan is great in the role. Not to mention if it's on DC Universe then a Swamp Thing crossover is possible.

With Swamp Thing canceled and Matt Ryan I'm assuming is doing season 5 of Legends I doubt we'll see a Constantine show on DCU and even more unlikely we'll get a Swamp Thing crossover

Supernatural is ending so why not resurrect Constantine to fill that void.
