Paidgeek,

Do you know if Spiderman 3 (Blu-Ray) will be released in Sweden day and date with the DVD? I only find preorders for the dvd. The blu-ray version seems to be availble in other european countries like UK, France and Germany day and date with the dvd.

Without belaboring the point, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was announced ages ago and then withdrawn. Will we be seeing it anytime soon? I asked before, but I don't think I saw a response, though I've seen responses on many many other movies. It would be nice to see the titles that were pulled months ago. The withdrawn titles are a source of significant frustration.

I will be in Australia in September and was thinking of buying the Bluray Trilogy there. Do you know which language tracks will be on the Australian discs?

Thanks

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is being planned for release next year.

I really don't like answering questions about planned titles or release schedules because it is not my area of responsibility and when titles or dates are announced and then move, it leads to disappointment. There really is no upside to giving early information here wouldn't you agree?

I am happy to discuss titles that have been announced or that I know soon will be, but I would be grateful if the members would please holdback on asking me about other titles. I think our marketing department is beginning to get annoyed with me.

Next time I'm at Sony I'll buy you ice cream at the studio shop across the street. Don't worry, you can just stick a hand out the door so I don't breach your secret identity

Well……….no, we didn’t.

It seems these days ole Ken just can’t avoid becoming grinded into eventual embarrassment no matter what house he’s speaking in to an audience that’s listening.

Have a good weekend folks.

Yeah, first Spielberg, then Weinstein.

Hey all,

Ron Epstien addresses the missing footage from the EMA recording (during the time that Universal made the comment about the pressure from GE to go format-neutral) in this thread on first page:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=260570

Per his explanation you can read at the HTF link above, the footage was not intentionally cut/edited, but rather was a result of changing recording equipment at that juncture.

Thanks. Don't want to get anyone in trouble but the exact range of topics on which people will respond is a little vague. I appreciate the effort and this is a great source of information. Keep up the fine work.

paidgeek,

The CE3K ad in the the new HMM seems to indicate there is some sort of 'booklet' that will be packaged with the DVD set but not the BD. This is a major blunder if true. Thanks for any input you have on this.

question for kjack:

Or anyone else who knows.

Do the newer SoC IC's have built in support for Java, or will that have to be done by an external CPU? Same question but for iHD?

When I say Java, I guess I mean all the features of profile 1.1, right up to and including a secondary HD stream decoder for pip. What about for profile 2.0?

Thanks

Australia will have English Dolby THD 24bit, English LPCM 16 bit and a 5.1 DD commentary track.

I don’t have time to read the link but, I’ll take your word for the synopsis, DaViD.

That’s a good thing to know.

As per my original post, i.e. it was obvious that something had been removed (intentional) or was missing to begin with (unintentional), I’m glad that it apparently was the later.

I also believe that if it were not for highlighting this inconsistency in the video coverage, then an accurate written transcript of the event would never have been forthcoming from others. Not to mention the fact that the missing coverage probably contained the most significant revealing statements of the entire discussion by the Uni V.P., as all the rest was typical rhetoric.

Worked out well in the end………… except, I guess for Ken.
