I'm gonna buy it, but I'll probably still keep my Boom-stick edition DVD too. Didn't say that both endings were going to be on the Blu did it?

Bruce Campbell is the man. I wish USA would put Burn Notice out on Blu.

I believe that Burn Notice is a Fox studio show so it's up to them.

It's great that Army of Darkness is coming out. Now we just need the first one. Obviously Universal is releasing this to tie-in to Raimi's upcoming horror flick Drag Me to Hell. Hopefully they might announce Darkman as well.

I thought Anchor Bay owned the rights to this,I have the so-called Boomstick Edition (with 2 cuts of the movie +some great extras!)and that's defineatly Anchor Bay,I know the other two in the series are also distributed by Bay,guess Universal took the rights back,I have several other Universal movies on DVD that Bay put out FM,Melvin and Howard,Repo Man,guess they might be OOP as well!!! Cant Anchor Bay keep the darn rights to stuff, they do a great remastering job with the tranfers, sound and extras, usually!,their Disney and Fox titles seem also OOP,but I did notice that a company called Blue Underground now has some of their former titles,I wish that William (Bill) Lustig still did the work on the DVD's.he was real knowlegeable about the cult classics that Bay put out, dont know why he left Anchor Bay?,he was a valuable asset to the company!

Anchor Bay's licensing agreement with Universal expired a few years ago for Army Of Darkness.

There is no reason for the Bootleg edition to be added, the PQ was horrible. The original theatrical version is the best....can't wait for the blu...

"First you wanna kill me....now you wanna kiss me.....blow" Best line! LOL!

I'd really like to order one of the Army of Darkness releases, but I'm not sure which. US or UK? Which is better in terms of PQ? (I don't really mind about special features, I just want the best looking presentation possible).

I love the Evil Dead movies but I'd wait on this one to make sure the PQ is good. I'm still hoping that they can redo the ED2 blu and make it's PQ better, even though it's an old movie shot on cheap film so the master may not provide a better picture.

I have the UK release of the film, and the PQ is REALLY good! Ofcourse some scenes look gritty and worn out, while others look just amazing.. There is already a review on here..

I agree. I just watched the UK release and the picture is utterly awesome in parts (especially daylight scenes). The amount of detail on Ash's face at the start is incredible.

And while the alternate ending may be more in spirit with the theme of EVIL DEAD, I just love the ending that has three of the best lines of the film.
The UK release is the one with the "And I'm a Chinese Jet pilot" line, and the "Good. Bad, I'm the guy with the gun". It is actually my favourite cut of the film. Utterly awesome
