For me I preferred Ravager over the III and IV. I really enjoy II though and Ravager wouldn't be allowed to lick it's boots.

Definitely not the greatest of all time, but a notable talent of his generation; one of the post-war American greats. I just don't think he has anything to say that's compelling, original or thoughtful left in the tank, certainly nothing approaching the reverence in which he's held. It's just a hugely effective, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing machine that kicks into gear once in a while and confirms what we already know and what others before him have elucidated.

After seeing Ravager, I realized the Phantasm films are actually one big movie. I can't watch just one of them; I have to watch them all, and in a row. I don't prefer one chapter over the other.
