Just watched my new blu-ray of Man's Best Friend and nice extras and terrific transfer, you'd think it was made 2 years ago with the new transfer.

I really wish scream had some random $5-10 cart filler type items. I got 2 movies to get and I'm $4 away from free shipping which makes it real hard to pull the trigger.

We might get Deadly Friend eventually via WAC or Shout but forget about the Director's Cut.
Yeah, I’m not holding my breath for the original cut of DF, but the fact that it is known about makes it intriguing. And since it’s the reverse of the usual story of the 80s, with gore being added rather than taken away, it also makes it an interesting tale.

It’ll probably be a barebones WAC release. An HD master already exists, I have it on my DVR, I just wish I knew how to get it off my DVR onto my computer or something haha.

And on a different yet similar note regarding people’s “preferred cut”, I don’t think anyone has seen Cravens original cut, and let’s face it, it’s not like DF is some lost masterpiece. It’s just more of an oddity in his Filmography that’s enjoyable but nowhere near top tier Craven.

I wonder if there's any possibility of Shout or anyone else breaking through to Disney. Maybe some old contact from Fox that could help them work something out? There are a couple movies that I really can't see Disney releasing on their own that I would love to have on blu one day. Last night I was thinking how I'd like to revisit Dangerous Minds. Another one I would really like is Jack with Robin Williams.

Some others I can think of are What About Bob? Bicentennial Man to round out my Williams collection. Dead Presidents. An American Werewolf in Paris. Swing Kids. Metro.

After Someone's Watching Me! was released, I have very hopes for The Hand & Deadly Friend eventually from SF. They did an amazing job w the Carpenter film. These both seem like titles that will sell, an early Oliver Stone film w Michael Caine and a pretty awesome cheese Wes Craven 80's film with Kristy Swanson. They're both cool movies for what they are too and I'd be fine w just standard releases of these films like Someone's Watching Me.

Warner Archive posted the trailer for Deadly Friend on their official YouTube channel a couple months ago, so if it’s going to be released, I’d think they’d release it themselves.

Just watched my copy of Higher Learning. Kristy Swanson was much cuter in Deadly Friend

Has there been any discussion of the Scream reps appearing on the Shock Waves podcast again? In the past it seemed they came on once or twice a year. They haven’t been on for awhile especially since their PR has taken such a big hit.

That was probably in reference to the new DVD they put out. But honestly, I'd rather pay for a WAC blu than a $30 Scream CE, though despite being Craven I don't think it would get the CE treatment unless it's just interviews with crew members and they dub that enough of a reason for it.

I miss Craven, though. Not even in hope of a new film, but simply his interviews and his overall philosophy when discussing his, and others, films.

Currently it seems only Kino has access of any kind of Disney's catalog. But according to those in the know, the rules of said access are a little wacky. Your best bet is still asking them either way.

There should be a “March Madness” sale starting sometime in the next week or so.

They typically appeared every June, but last year, it was in July, just after Comic Con. So expect it in June, or more likely in July.

I think this is an extreme long-shot. With Disney+ coming later this year, they seem to be hoarding their entire catalog as an incentive to subscribe.... I'm honestly waiting for the announcement that "The Simpsons" are moving from FX to Disney+ when the contract lapses next year.

I don't know... some of these titles I really don't see appearing on Disney +. Stuff like "Jack" maybe, but Dead Presidents and American Werewolf in Paris, I just don't see it happening. My gut tells me it's going to be more "family friendly" movies.

The rumor is that Disney+ will carry stuff PG-13 and under, and Hulu (who Disney owns a big stake in) will carry the R rated adult content.

I agree to everything your saying but for most fans who first heard of Deadly Friend (Director's Cut) in Screams and Nightmares: The Films of Wes Craven, it has always been an if I could see it situation. From what was said in the book their is a copy of the original version of the film somewhere in the Warner Bros. Vault. If SF gets a chance to release DF in a Collectors Edition and I would be happy with even a workprint tape of the Director's Cut as an extra.
I'm a little perplexed with people thinking that if SF gets DF - Director's Cut, it would mean they wouldn't release the theatrical version! I'm sure they would put both versions of the film onto a Collectors Edition......

I have been meaning to buy these Decline of Western Civilization movies forever, but am just now getting around to it.

I am a huge fan of the Los Angeles band, X, and have seen them in concert several times, so that's the big incentive. Also, I was a teenager during the metal era outlined in the second movie, so that'll bring back some great memories.
