Default Yamaha RX-V3900 Receiver Thread

Yamaha RX-V3900

Yamaha-RX-V3900 THREAD 2.jpg

Okay I've reviewed the RX-V1900 and now I'm moving on to the RX-V3900.

This looks like a pretty sweet receiver. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I have the 3800 and I love it. I have a lot of WMA files at a 192 bit rate and I can't tell the difference between a CD and the WMA song. (I have decent speaters too.) The networking is a great feature for my music. I use it all the time. On the AVR I can select a music genre and with the shuffle feature on I can randomly jump through my music for hours. The only down side is that the artists, albums etc. are listed alphabetically, so if you want to listen to Metallica, you need to scroll for a while to get to that artist. Perhaps the 3900 has improved this.

When I had "the boys" wall mount my TV they also ran an ethernet line from the 3800 to my router in my basement. It works like a charm. The 3900 has a few more bells and whistles, but it is basically the same as the 3800.

IMHO, you can't go wrong with this AVR.

Very nice, you really can't say anything bad about it, well except the price.

$1,800 less 25% at 6ave = $1,350 (more than my HDTV and almost as much as the HDTV combined with the BDP), but audio is at least half the HT.

I totally agree! For me it is more than half, especially when I consider all of the music I enjoy.
