If you're cable is not okay, monster or not, 2 things can happen
The First thing will be white snow on the display because the signal error correction chip fail. Then you'll have On .. Off... On ... Off monitor. If you get a signal without both of those then it's 99% fine. My 50$ 35 feet monoprice cable hold my 1080p 24/60hz signal just fine without any error.. |

Read this article. I spent $18 each on Belkin HDMI cables at Sam's Club because I wanted ones with gold ends so they wouldn't corrode. I have had very bad luck with Monster Cables over the years and the 2 S-video I purchased both broke and had to be tossed and my cheap ones are still working. I would never purchase a Monster product again, they are all hype. |

The amp and Projector are the ones linking with my 35 feet cable. If my projector didn't received 1080p/24 it would fail to Sync and i would have a blank screen (that's how HDMI work, if it fail to negociate the resolution it blank). Btw you'll want to talk to 90% of the member that post in the Projector section on Avsforum forum also... LOL! |

HDMI is a digital cable, that means all it sends is a signal denoting 1's and 0's.
Buying a really expensive HDMI cable is like buying one of those graphing, scientific calculators to do everyday simple mathematics. |

Well I use a $5000 USB cable, and I am sure my transferred files to my external hard drive are better quality than if I use a $5 USB cable!

Just like speaker wire/cabling, interconnects, power cords and the like, which have substantial differences in quality, I don't see why people are saying that all HDMI cables are created equal. I don't think they are. Does that mean you should spend exhorbitant amounts of money on these? NO! But to say that they are equal in quality and performance over everything else just doesn't make sense.

Unfortunately too many people at Blu-ray.com either do not have the interest, appreciation, equipment, money, aptitude and/or ability (or learned to hear adequately) to see and hear the differences. Rich |
