I've got the other seasons, and with WAC taking over the Blu-Rays, I'm not expecting that a Complete Series set will manifest, so I'll likely get this too.

what an odd choice for an announcement... a 9th season of a TV series:

Why?

Because the season ended not that long ago, and the previous seasons have already been released on Blu-Ray, either through WHV or WAC...

It wasn't WAC though.. that's what's odd about it. They should have just released it again from WHV... and not wasted a valuable slot from their specialty label.

S8 was WAC though so no reason to think S9 would be different.

It's not like WAC has a finite set of slots or that there's any reason to think it discplaced something eles. If they wanted to release 5 more WAC this month they could easily have done that. September has 8 releases and November had 8 or 9 slots depending on where you want to slot The Thing

As hariseldon said, Season 8 was a Warner Archive release.

Would you rather the season not get a Blu-ray release at all? Because that’s what would happen if WHV kept the show to itself. We’re lucky that Warner has a specialty label to handle TV shows that WHV won’t release or finish on BD. It’s a shame Fox doesn’t have something like WAC, because maybe then we’d still be getting Blu-rays of American Horror Story, Glee, Modern Family, The Simpsons, etc. CBS/Paramount would’ve also probably released more of Charmed, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, etc. if they had something like WAC.

Or what happens when WAC fails -- you end up with a missing season 5 of The Originals which went from WHV to WAC to nothing. At least S4 of iZombie following suit.

Not saying it’s perfect, but that seems to be a unique case. Didn’t WAC say there were clearance issues (or was that iZombie)? Also, WAC sometimes takes their sweet time, so it could still come out.

Either way, I’m just glad they’re finishing Shameless, and completed Justice League. I’m also happy they’re releasing Riverdale, and I hope they follow suit with Sabrina.

They said -- I'm just not sure I believe them since Izombie 4 was released on Digital. I'll admit I broke down and got it figuring the $5 was pretty much like a rental anyway. That's about my limit on paying a digital fee.

Like most of there shows that premiered after 1/1/18, I believe Netflix has a 4-year embargo on Sabrina being available outside of their platform, so it may be awhile.

Guess I will be getting this when I can find a deal, though with WAC there's less chance of that. Not the first time a later season of a show has ended up on this label. I think The Leftovers had their final season only released on WAC... and no digital

Longmire had it’s last 2 or 3 seasons released through Warner Archive.

WAC had always handled "Longmire" on Blu.

Well, Netflix’s other shows usually take around a year to make it to disc, so I guess we’ll see in the coming months. WAC might know if we ask them. God, I hope that’s not the case here.

My go-to sale for the WAC TV sets is the Barnes and Noble 40% off sales. You have to do a ShiptoHome through the store computer system, but it allows me to use 15% extra coupon (15-30% in the the December sales) and my member 10% discount so it can often end up 60-65% off MSRP. I've seen some Deep Discount sales with a 15% offer which would get certain season to around 50% off, but otherwise the full sales are limited to say the least.

The recent FYE Pi Day sale was very nice and I ended up getting Longmre for around $20 instead of waiting until mid June for the next expected BN sale.

Every season was through WAC
Same with Lucifer, izombie, and now Riverdale
Lethal Weapon, Animal Kingdom and The 100 started with S2
Blindspot and The Originals each started with S3 i think

I don't care about the geek side of this discussion, I'm just glad to be able to keep my collection of this show complete.
I've been waiting for this announcement, afraid the DVD release was going to be the only release, like Fargo.
