Don't blow it out of proportion in your mind, it's a lot of information about titles coming all this year and I'll leave it at that.

It's big in me and Bill's book, I can say that

Relax im not about to come back on here and curse you and your colleagues and your site if it's not Star Wars.

As long as it's got something to do with Heat, Chinatown (which is my fav movie ever) Braveheart and maybe a little Back To The Future.

That will make me happy

I am looking forward to Monday's post. I like when we get a nice list of upcoming titles. Can't wait to add to my "must get" list.

Jeff,

A while back, on the bits, there was mention of Gremlins and Goonies announcements were expected soon from WB. Are these two still on track or is this a case of catalog titles being moved around?

I've got ten bucks on the announcement having to do with Trek. A lot of other May discs have been announced...except this one. Paramount isn't going to lump these discs in with the other ones they've already announced. They need to make a big splash with them. We have (overseas) cover art...we have a few officially unofficial details.

I'm going with Trek.

I don't think it's going to be trek only. Jeff said a few posts above that they hav news about titles coming this year. More than likely bill is going to drop news on a bunch of catalog titles that we may or may not heard rumors about. Whatever it is, new news is better than no news and hearing about new titles that are coming is always a good thing.

You guys over at thebits, I wait patiently for the posting of the news

Jeff Ive been seeing ads for Still Waithing for DVD but no Blu. Why didnt Lionsgate want to do a blu or could it be out later in the year? Or is it that the 1st film didnt sell good?

Thanks,

Guys, re-read Jeff's post. This doesn't seem to be any "big" official studio announcement. It seems like it's more of a large rumor mill type post of "Here's some long awaited titles and a rundown of what you can expect for the rest of the year".

Hopefully, while we've already heard of Braveheart, Gladiator, Indy, etc...there will be some more long awaited catalog gems...maybe a previously unknown Spielberg title?

We shall see...

I know we've been told catalog titles get moved around alot, but why? Why is it so difficult for a studio to settle on a release date for a catalog title?

Well now, I wouldn't say that.............

They look for tie-ins, they look at historical sales patterns, they also move things around because space may be needed in the production schedule to fit another popular title in earlier than expected. Unless it's a AAA catalog (BTTF, Star Wars etc), these things aren't locked and set in stone, pretty much ever. All kinds of reasons

I saw you mentioned Robin Hood Prince of Thieves will be getting a Blu release in May as the extended cut.

Any word on whether the original cut will be available on the disc in any form? I like the extended edition, but don't think the original theatrical cut should be lost.

FYI - for those who like seeing movie goofs, this is the film to watch. Almost every seen has some sort of continuity error.

Fun to watch though.

What technology do you think can advance movie watching any further than we have now with Blu-ray.

Technically you will need a TV of 60 inches at least to take advantage of any added resolution,

So that seem to negate any possibility of any advance there.

Have we relay almost reached a point where technology has done at least for home media movie watching.

Has reached a peek.

Then people will just have to get larger displays. Heck, I've got 3 displays larger than 60"
