Neither will I but I’ll probably feel like watching these in 4K sometimes as well especially given that’s how these ones were originally released (2D only) and plus the Best Buy steelbooks will be nice.

Is immersion usually loose or tight?

Immersion is that good it knows when to be loose and when to be tight...

Anyways. I am psyched for this and glad Australia is again leading the way announcing these titles :P First Lion King now this.

I literally scoff at anyone saying it needs to be 4K rebuilt for them to purchase this. Pffft enjoy your SDR, 8-bits and worse compression! This is gonna be great unleashed to it's full spec 2K data

Didn't Ant-Man re-release on a Sunday?

Maybe. Idk. Apples and oranges.

It just seems weird that they’d release all 3 of these...on 4K...and from one of their major franchises on a Sunday instead of the usual Tuesday.

It’s almost like they don’t want anyone to know about it lol.

Several Disney re-releases have a Sunday date though not all the stores realize that -- all thos new slipcover/Digital re-release Marvel from Sept 17 2017. Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Xmas,

It's certainly not consistent, but it's reasonably common

Also wouldn;t be the 1st time a prelim release date was wrong

Catalog steelbooks that debut on an endcap are the only things that get released on Sunday at Best Buy. Disney never does that.

I’m betting June 4 or 11 (with Captain Marvel), that is, if these are coming out AT ALL. *Fingers crossed*

The repackaged Toy Story BDs also have release date on a Sunday (05/26/2019) according to Best Buy.

If these have awesome steelbooks, I'll get them. Otherwise I'll stick with the 3Ds unless I can get the 4Ks chealp.

Looking forward to the HDR on these. Plastic toys after all are...shiny.

As well as the Atmos remixes - they had very aggressive audio mixes at the time and used all the latest formats to the fullest when they were made. TS1 was a 5.1 showcase, TS2 used EX and 7.1 for TS3.

So you want those amazing original mixes ruined by Disney with nearfield mixed for the volume pumpers?
Toy Story 2's SDDS 8 mix destroyed the EX mix, like it's not even close.

The HDR grade would be my biggest factor for double dipping on the original. I'd like for it to try to emulate the 35mm version; but that's most likely not going to happen.

I totally forgot TS2 was mix and released in SDDS8 channel, I don't recall any such theater denotion as such from the Washington Post though.

While I thought it was interesting to hear sound sourced audio cues behind the viewer for the theatrical EX mix, I thought the bluray effectively used the panned directional dialogue where the LC/F and RC/F channels would have been used for the five front stage speakers configuration.

SDDS didn't have a surround back channel which was the main point of Dolby EX (and DTS ES) and the LC+RC channels were useless for all but the largest screens.

It was less a point and more a gimmick, and thats why it died and had to evolve.

I knew that - my point is that the home theater mix did a great good job replicating the phantom speaking dialogue to pinpoint the sound cues that would have been in the LC and RC channels.

anyhow, Dolby Atmos picked up where SDDS-8 ended by implementing and adding back the two center channels for screens that are fifty feet + in width.
