I forgot to mention, when I do those 3 steps, press and hold down power button until tv reboots and then play my 3d movie, I always Re sync my glasses with the TV as soon as I get confirmation from the TV when confirms it is a 3D disc. Maybe that is also helping, so I will repost my steps here

1. On the remote with the TV on, press and hold down the power button until the TV reboots. Dvd JOSH-You won't lose your settings

2. Put in your 3d disc and let it load

3. The TV should read it is a 3D disc.

4. Now do a fresh sync of your glasses.

5. Start the movie

This works for me every time and a few times I had to do it twice. I had mentioned I had lines and other things but I think i meant that most of my issues are crosstalk too. I have a friend with the 65 inch version and this fixed it for him too. So try my 5 steps, could be re-syncing the glasses, which I forgot about in my earlier post, is important in the reboot and to freshly re-sync the glasses once the TV picks up it is a 3D disc. That's when I re-sync the glasses (do the power reboot first).

Let me know if anyone has any luck with this. Once it works I get near zero crosstalk. I don't change any of the settings except under 3d I like to turn up the 3D effect.

Does this TV do Dolby Vision through hardware such as 4K players yet? I haven't gotten any firmware updates for a while.

Yet? The Dolby Vision firmware has been out almost a year.

It took some time for external devices to update for the new profile but the Apple TV was updated shortly after the firmware release last year.

I also have a Xbox One X and Oppo 203 which playback Dolby Vision to the Z.

Panasonic players also work fine with the Zed aside from the clipped highlights in DV, but that's a problem with the player and not the TV.

I use an Oppo 203 with my Z. Just to be sure, Player-led processing is preferred, correct?

Yes, it won't work if set to TV-led (Auto also works fine).

On My 203 and Z, I tested player-led, TV-lead and automatic and I found no difference

Right now mine is on Automatic

Interesting thing has happened on both my Z9D’s. As of one week ago when using the onboard apps, Netflix no longer wants to load properly. I’m having to go to the apps settings and “force stop” the app. Once this is done it plays fine. Until I turn off and return the next time. Any ideas why this might be occurring or how to fix? This is only happening w/Netflix.

I have a Sony, and something similar happened to me with Netflix. It would not load the site, like it was looking for something. I read in the Support that you have to power down to reload the Apps. With the Sony Remote you hold down the power button till the TV goes down. Then when you power back up you will see everything loading. After everything comes back up, go to Netflix and it should come up like before with the Log-in buttons.

I just checked Netflix on my ZD9 and it loaded up immediately.
Then again, I haven't upgraded the Android version due to the issues reported.

I've been using my XBOX One X for Netflix since it's the only way I can get both Atmos and Dolby Vision.

It seems to be a bug with the app and/or the backend during account authentication. People on the previous version of Android on the other two Sony TV models I own are experiencing it too.

And Dolby Vision forced all the time even with SDR content.

Thanks for the response guys. Hopefully someone will report to Sony/Netflix and it will be resolved soon.

I noticed on a solid blue background there are three vertical fields (pillars) that comprise the whole of the screen. The section in the middle isn't as bright as the two on either side. Is this normal, does it get better after the TV is used more?

You're quite right, I assumed that TV-led wouldn't work but it works fine, so either something else is going on with the Sony DV profile or the player just switches to the player-led version for Sony TVs regardless of where the setting is actually at.

So I did this the other night and didn't really notice any difference in the quality of the 3D. Still getting some crosstalk and for whatever reason, when it "warms up" the issue does appear to lessen (or I just get used to it).

(I think Geoff will answer) but I'm curious if anyone has used the UB820 vs. X700 on this display and if they believe the HDR Optimizer has a positive effect on non-DV titles.

Robert, I think there is a way to shot circuit all of this. After having alot of crosstalk issues, last night I just let the actual movie start playing (not the trailers of anything else) then synced the glasses. Perfect 3D. Give it a shot next time.

I watched Doctor Strange 3D yesterday. Crosstalk city.

That disc will now be a perfect opportunity to test your findings.

I'm making my way through the MCU in preparation for Endgame. My next three are:

(D) Ant-Man (3D)
(D) Captain America: Civil War (3D)
(D) Doctor Strange (3D)

I may go ahead and jump Dr. Strange ahead of Cap and Ant-Man to see along with you but I'd be curious to know what anyone else finds.
