Now to get this thread back on track.

Ishtar might be the most overrated film of all time.

Robin Hood 2018 was a fun action adventure fantasy. Not nearly as horrific as critics made out, at worst it's forgettable but I certainly enjoyed the production design and slightly steampunk aesthetic.

It's funny how the Marx Brothers get overlooked in the musical category.

I know that in many cases, the musical element is a bit of an intrusion that undercuts the hilarity. And that's putting it generously. (I'm not talking about Groucho's songs of course.)

But in quite a few instances the musical numbers are actually really good and worthwhile. And even an average Marx Brothers movie with tolerable music in it is preferable to most average musicals.

I particularly like the numbers in Horse Feathers.

Favorite musical is Pink Floyd The Wall. Not sure if that's an unpopular choice, but I had to acquire a Russian bootleg since there is no official Blu-ray. (The DVD is the first one I bought.) Is there really no demand for this?

It looked so bad in every way possible.

Well that's just not true at all. The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous and the production design is stunning.

School of Rock isn't technically a musical, is it? I'm not sure.

I sometimes watch Speed Racer just for the transitions.

I find some of his other films better than The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) too.
I really disliked Une chambre en ville even though it seems to be well regarded - lousy music and I didn't give a damn about anybody in it. Probably my least fav Demy after Model Shop.

I demand it right now. The Sony DVD set is nice, but man, I need a Blu ray. This film deserves it. Personally I'd love to see Criterion release it. Sony themselves would be fine though.

A-X-L, a movie nobody bothered to see was surprisingly decent in an 80's throwback short circuit E.T. Mac & Me sort of way... kinda like that Monster Trucks movie though I'd say that one is better, but AXL is worth a watch.
