Networking two PS3's

If I could do this, I could get much more game time in my life. As it is now, I pretty much only get weekend afternoons, but I could get weekday mornings and early evenings.

Not through networking is it possible to pick up saved games, but you can fire them onto a USB stick (or a memory card, if your PS3 has the readers) and transport them to your other machine that way.

That would be easy enough. A little less convenient, but easy enough. I might have to pick up another PS3.

It won't work for every game! Some save files are now locked to its particular console.

I have two PS3s and I notice this quite a lot.

That isn't true, but the data can be locked to their user of origin.

What you'll need to do, then, is to just create a new user on your other PS3 and then use your existing PSN account to access the data.

One caveat, however, is that the data may check for your DLC on boot, so you may need to redownload any DLC you might have on your second console.

I think you are mistaken. Some games, like Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, you cannot copy the save data on to a flash drive. It can only be backed up using the back up utility wich will back up everything on the HDD.
