Oh okay. Have you tried any of the movies I recommended?

i tried the HULK on regular dvd. it sounded good. I think I have too much bass now, I actually had to turn the levels on the pioneer and the A2300 down a tad. Im getting another receiver soon anyway. I sent back the pioneer. loved the sound of it, but was upset with the xover points for all speakers in the MCACC and some problems with it not passing deep color, and not showing the full HD picture sometimes on the directv dvr.

it was really not a major problem. the pioneer voltage or sub output needed to be raised a little. I plugged my ipod touch into it directly to make sure it was getting a good signal, and it was.

Ill just have to dial it more when my new receiver or when I figure out which receiver I will be getting arrives. I still have my xpa-3 for now.

So I poped in episode III for a quick test...The crossover settings, and the drop down opening scene in space...10-o'clock makes things shake in my room. Just starting to tweak.

was just curious what source for deep color you are using.

So your receiver does not pass it? (do you have it enabled in the options?)

For music I tried upping the Pioneer SW level to 3.0db, with the gain on the A2-300 set to 1/2. It sounds pretty good, but if I try to turn the gain up anymore on the A2 it gives out a horrible farting noise like it wants to die. I'm assuming the amp is not powerful enough, or it is overpowering the driver.

Are the amplifiers on the A2-300's upgradeable?

Good lord, how do you guys overload the A2-300? It pumps out more bass than anybody could realistically use unless they have a really large living room.

My HT room is about 11'x19', I wouldn't say it's large. It shakes the room while watching a movie, I just can't really achieve that tight hard hitting bass while playing an audio CD.

I do realize however that this sub is meant for movies, and to achieve this I probably need to work on upgrading my fronts. I'm just trying to push the limits to see how far it will go. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the A2.

TheJesus, adjust the sub equalizer on your receiver to stress the upper bass and crank the crossover on both the sub and receiver. Make adjustments as needed.

You should also keep the sub amp at around 1:00 and crank it on the receiver. Otherwise the sub's amp will introduce distortion even at lower volumes. It's like cranking the volume on the PS3 and connecting it to your receiver. You're going to get a whole bunch of unnecessary distortion.

Thumbs up

I ordered banana plugs from MonoPrice.com, it's good the banana plugs.

I test on eD subwoofer connector to bookshelfs speaker. I plug RCA stereo red and white in eD subwoofer's amp. I test on PC laptop to eD subwoofer

it's flewless! good job eD.

you can use PC for speaker only eD subwoofer.

what i mean is that the pioneer can't pass it. It is unable to pass it, I read it in a review but read it a little too late.
