All is great with it except for a near total lack of deep bass?
Anyone else experience this?
I wonder if the DTS HD track which my reciever can't decode is the root of this? Perhaps the disc doesn't have the core DTS track?
My receiver does DTS very well but not with this release.

Thoughts?
Several things. All Dts-HD Master Audio tracks have a Dts core track. That is the very foundation of the codec, and the basis of its backward compatibility.

You have a VERY good sub woofer, so I do not know why you feel you are not getting any deep bass. I did the review of this disc for this site, and I found no issues of lack of deep bass. According to my RTA's in my system, it extended at periods down to the lowest note on the bass guitar(which is about 42hz). It doesn't get much lower than the bass, and it doesn't go any lower on the recording. Unlike a lot of Bluray rock video disc, the upper bass frequencies (between 40-80hz) on this disc are not pushed in the LFE. Its pretty flat, and that can give the perception of a lack of deep bass. Plus, this disc had a pretty flat upper end(between 10-20khz, so it was a little bright sounding, and that can also give the impression of a lack of deep bass, especially combined with the former.
