Those were YET another string of releases where the only thing “new” was the art/packaging.

Here, we’re talking about one of their most popular franchises coming out on 4K for the first time ever and they’re choosing to release them on a Sunday?? (when the average consumer -not us- is most likely to miss them)

Highly doubt it.

Not saying it won’t happen. It just seems really odd.

June 5th is the Australian release date, which OP cited. It's looking like a Sunday June 2nd release in North America.

Yeah, they also have no digital for the Jungle Book re-release on Disney Movie Club. I hope they aren't killing that program for their Disney+ service, but I have a feeling they are...

The upcoming Cinderella Signature Collection Edition will have a digital copy, and so will Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War.

I wonder how much better the first two could look in 4K, especially the first one. I'm predicting marginal improvements over the Blu-Ray at best.

A couple of pages back these were listed as the Japan release artwork. And no digital. USA releases will most likely (99% confidence) have digital codes.

So much of it will come down to how they're graded in HDR and whether the Atmos tracks are Atmoused or not.


They will be from 2k digital files as expected. The colors will be stronger by at least a little (especially 2 & 3) and with more stability on UHD given the P3 cinema gamut and 10 bit. Less banding for sure.

that's what I don't understand - does DHV have it's own video transfer team that do the audio/PQ tweaking or does Pixar have any say or the ability to do an Atmos remix on their own ? All in all, DHV's Atmoused mixes are pretty hit or miss.
