another good article - https://www.mysterybox.us/blog/2019/...lmmaking-e75yg , although I don’t see mentioned by the authors is that Dolby Vision Version 4.0 won’t be supported by encoding partners until June or later.

if only doubling as an onsite focus-puller for the Blu-ray.com readership and you’re confusing the heck out of me with your jests.

Dude, we’re not planning on it for at least a couple more years, but next time we return to Vancouver (and we will), you and I have really got to meet…however, please speak English Canadian as my French communicating is still basic as I guess it's apparent I have no sense of French humor.

Meanwhile....if you ever do decide to take the boat across the waterway, follow Method Studios in Vancouver - https://www.methodstudios.com/en/main/ as the folks there are very friendly and you may learn some new things at one of their events, e.g. Open House, etc.

As you’re quite an affable fellow , whereas other than a couple folks, the guys over on the movie fan forum/thread dedicated to following Top Gun: Maverick are reluctant to engage, e.g. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...2#post16252872

despite the quality presented.

As there is no indication as to their business location on their contact form, for those wondering, those mystery guys and gals are not out of Hollywood, but rather Utah

and if I get some time in the future I’ll try to grab a photo/figure courtesy of Sean (McCarthy of Dolby) giving folks a visual idea as to the perifoveal region of the retina as depicted covering a portion of one’s TV screen with circles and such, rather than as viewed as a cross section on an OCT which I posted somewhere on this thread or the 4K Movies thread probably years ago.

When I lived in Vancouver, with musicians we rented an old 3-story house (early 1900s) and across the house was a school for young actors. That was near Cambie bridge. The house has been demolished since then, that was in the late seventies, forty years ago.

Tom Cruise we didn't hear much from him back then...zero. We also had other hobbies; playing music, climbing mountains, chasing everything that runs. HDR wasn't even on the radar.

Today it's amazing where we are with moving pictures and movie sounds.
Did you see Roma? ...Aquaman (((3D)))? ...Mission: Impossible - Fallout...4K?

Forty years ago we weren't watching movies much, we were living in our own real movies.
Alfonso Cuarón's Roma is set in 1970-71 in a suburb of Mexico City. Fifty years ago I was with Roxane in Quebec. I played guitar, steel flute and harmonica. I had a turntable and a hi-fi stereo system with AM/FM radio/receiver. I listened to the Beatles, classical music, Jesus Christ Superstar (the same album playing in the movie Roma), Black Sabbath later on and CCR.

My favorite Yes album?

Sounds like you’ve already lived a diverse fulfilling life. Hopefully more years with good health to come. The only thing I regret is not having the opportunity to have spent more time with my parents, and for that matter, my wife’s parents….her Dad having fought as a young teen in this rescue - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0326905/ …… boy, the stories he could tell about real life adventures.

I'm trying to add the numbers (average daily number of views) for this thread.
It's like being in the eye of a tornado; just no time and no motivation for mathematics.
So I simply go with the flow; aboard a fighter jet or riding along with Maverick on a motorcycle. Forget Chuck Norris doing acrobatics between two planes, in the air ...

^ speaking of friends….as a token of appreciation, challenge coins distributed to folks at various bases who’ve helped out on location with the Top Gun: Maverick production, with one side commemorating the filming –

and the other side acknowledging the legacy and continued tradition of TOPGUN –

in regards to keeping the tradition alive (classes enrolled with ‘the best of the best’ continue to graduate), read right -> https://www.instagram.com/p/BvfDu7VFJGi/
