i had the chance to talk to synpase at horrorhound convention a few weeks ago and they said there restoration is not going to be used for any uhd.

They said if they do decide to do one it will be through there own company, not license it out. So this is deff not synapse restoration (which is the best one ).

Hope they do get a UHD for there version.

Thanks for clearing that up. I can now forget this release. If money is holding Synapse back, would crowdfunding be an idea?

As for this Japanese release: TLE it is then (with no HDR).

I wonder what it would take for them to enter the UHD market, starting with Suspiria? I can only speak for myself but I would easily be willing to pay double the amount of what the SE Blu-ray cost (the same goes for Demons). Especially if that will encourage them to release more movies on UHD after that...

the only edition of the classic 1977 film that should be on 4K UHD is the Synapse transfer

The italian UHD Blu-ray is SDR... I bet the Japanese too will be.
