Think it was Jason that said it was part of an upgrade....

Yeah...I just want to know what was upgraded. I know they make their own cones now, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hehe, soon. I still have to post pics of the Onkyo, which is still sitting on a folding chair until I get some sort of stand. And the sub...well I'm to bust enjoying it

But really, If they make their cones now...who made them before when they were silver?

Just curious if these upgrades really make an audible difference.

Pot Luck question, anybody can answer (but esp. Driver, Jason, Big Daddy - if you're listening...)

I have a specific question about placement - since I (only) will have 1 sub, where should I put it? (I've seen the diagrams) I'd like to know if I need a literal "line of sight" for best response.

For instance, I'm thinking of putting it in the corner, to the right of my Right channel (and moving my racks of BRs and DVDs). Would a couch that would physically hide the sub from the sight line of the TV viewing sweetspot act as a bass trap and diminish the low end I'd get from the 'sweet spot'?

Check out my HT pics if you need a better idea of what I mean...

Thanks, Doc...

Bass trap! I would assume that the couch would soak up all that sweet sweet bass. I have mine next to my right tower...I know it's not in the corner, but the best place for bass, just so happens to be under my tv. I'm unable to put the sub there however. My room is so small, that I really don't think it makes a difference and actually think I have great bass output from where the sub is. Although I get standing waves by my door.

EDIT: Upon farther looking at your setup, why not between your TV and Left Speaker. I don't know what you would do with the cd rack, but I think you would like it there.

And don't kill me!!! You could also swap out your bean bag chair for the sub, I think that would also be a nice place. Or or. You could put the sub in the corner, and your bean bag chair on the other side to the left of your tv??? Suggestion at best...but now that I think about it, not so much for you and your love of the bean bag chair

One of the heat vents for the room is behind the CD rack (the other is about 1.5 feet away at the lower left corner of the TV stand. Don't want to put the sub there in the line of fire of the heat vent....

The bean bag chair on the right corner would interfere with the blinds on the window, and in the summer it would put my head up against the air conditioner that fits in that window... already thought of that ... good thought though. Every design element of the room is in just the wrong spot in my opinion. My only other solution (which might be the best) is to reverse the room, so the light green couch goes where the TV is, and the TV goes where the couch is. Only problem there is that the heat-producing TV will be right next to the thermostat...

...thus causing it to not turn on when it really needs to be turning on...atleast it would save you some money. Of course you would be a little chilled.

Hmm, let me look at your pics again...try to give you some more ideas

...thus keeping it warm most of the time, and not turning on when it needs to be...atleast it would save you some money...of course you would be a little chilled, but hey!

The only thing I can think of is move the Onkyo on the bottom shelf of the TV stand, move the cable box down there too next to it. Put the PS3 where the cable box is at and move that antenna on the right speaker. That would allow you to rid yourself of that shelf/rack thing and put the sub there???

Tried searching and couldn't find what I was looking for. Is your credit card charged after a week, or once it is painted? I thought I remembered something about once it is painted.

Thanks

Its charged the day your order is processed, or the first business day after the order is place. So if you order Sunday night...Charged Monday. Order Tuesday morning, it's going to be charged within the day. Hope that helps

Cone parts come for the same vendor, unfortunately we don't have the ability to form as many of these as we'd need in a week to make it work for us. One was painted silver with the logo, the new one's are done black. The big upgrade that happened in terms of the A2-300 was a redesigning of how the parts in the cabinet fit together that gives the A2-300 more internal volume allowing it to extend a little lower.

Curious. Well I used a debit card for mine. It was pending after it was processed, and then taken off my account period like I didn't even by the sub. Then it went through as final a week later now that I think about it.

The card is originally authorized to make sure payment would be valid, we actually don't finalize the charge until the box goes under construction with the current method. Changes are coming soon with a shift to production schedule and such, I'll have more information for everyone when I know more about that part. I do know that they have set shipment dates for the first couple production runs. Of which the new A5-350's are first up;

A5-350 : March 6th.

A3-300 : March 13th.
