And totally agree regarding Legend. It's a shame it didn't turn out the way Scott intended, but visually I think it's absolutely stunning.

Black Rain is fantastic, much better than this.

IMHO, Black Rain is above average... it s much more action-packaged and fast-packed, with a fantastic cast.

Did they reframe this? Looks like they opened up the left side (soundtrack area) and bottom. Looks a bit off now.

DVD looks zoomed in. More info all on all sides on Blu which looks far superior.

The top is pretty much the same, a few pixels on the right but the majority of the added image is left side and bottom and looks off centre now as a result.

I'd honestly never even heard of this movie, which is shocking. And I think this is the last Ridley Scott film I have to watch and wow. This is really an exceptional film. The script, direction, lighting, and performances are all top notch. And that finale is really terrific.

DVD era master but Shout's done well with what they have. Video is sharp on daytime images but many night shots appear fuzzy. Audio is beefy but not much bass to it. Shot very stylishly, pity all that goes to waste with a dated print. Tom Berenger can't act at all, Lorraine Bracco goes full Melanie Griffith'ish in dialog delivery but is aces above Tom. Mimi is very elegant in the role. A stylish but routine, average outing that will sell with the Ridley Scott name.

Finally picked this up, love Ridley and his dark vibe that he only has. This is a blind buy, hope I like it.
