Default Need Help with Sony STR-DG920...Please

Hello All,

I have a quick question and was wondering if someone could help me with the STR-DG920.

First I did all testing with The Dark Knight Blu-Ray Disc.

I have the 920 connected via HDMI to a Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-Ray Player. I have all the audio settings on the Blu-Ray player set to Bitstream and I selected DolbyTrueHD from the Dark Knight audio menu.

The display on the front of the receiver only shows the icon for Dolby Digital and it will not show the TrueHD logo. It scrolls on the front screen Dolby Digital [3/2.1].

Am I doing something wrong here to not see the TrueHD logo. I only have a 5.1 speaker system but thought I should still see the TrueHD logo.

Any help on this would be really appreciated, thanks in advance.

-Dennis

I wonder... is your HDMI 1.3 a/b? Not sure if that matters...

I had this issue too. Go into the GUI menu and make sure the receiver is NOT outputting the audio to AMP and TV in the HDMI settings. The TV cannot handle hd audio and the receiver is outputting it to DD. Or, press the theater button on the remote so Theater mode is "on". That might work, too.

I would think you do not have an HDMI 1.3 category 2 compliant cable.
