That would be correct, in fact I'm not aware of cases coming without the transparent plastic sleeve.

These are nice. I have some of the white ones that come from the German(?) company but they always seem kind of cheap to me. I wish that Viva would just start manufacturing Elites in various colors. We know they can do it and I would really buy the hell out of some nice black (non-eco) ones.

Actually, adding colorant to the material can be troublesome when doing plastic injection molding as the colorant affects the base plastic's material properties.

From my own experience, opaque black (carbon) is among the most difficult to deal with and it especially affects impact resistance.

So there is probably good reason why manufacturers went with translucent blue to begin with.

We would have to ask Seastone for the reasoning, but in terms of color I'm sure they went with Red (red laser for DVD) for HD-DVD and Blue (Blue laser for HD) for Blu-ray.

It would be interesting to know what the other competing designs were that lost out.

With that said, the DVD cases were pretty resilient and flexible as I don't recall ever receiving a broken case. I did change out some cases, but that was solely due to coloring.

Reply to your order status e-mail and ask them about the status of your order. It's what I've done and it has worked the last few times. Scroll back 3 pages and read that page and the one that follows for several of our experiences.

You can also try contacting them through their e-bay store.

Well, seems like I’m out of luck in finding a replacement 4-disc Vortex case. Can’t find them anywhere. Might have to go with the Viva Elite instead; at least it fits the slipcover for what I’m replacing.

I would hold off ordering anything from Casetopia, I ordered some cases on 2/9/2019 and still today 04/06/2019 - 2 months and still nothing... I have wrote several e-mail to sales department and made many phone calls - they have NOT answered any of my e-mails NOR will the answer the phone... This is the 1st time I have had a problem with order there, usually they are fairly quick... but now, I'm thinking they are collecting money and not sending anything out??????

has anyone bought single disc viva elite cases recently run into the same problem i have? i ordered about 125 single discs from discmakers and the front of every one of them feel flimsy and bow in which makes my covers bow in also and looks like crap in my opinion. the 2 and 3 disc cases i ordered were fine and feel sturdy. just wondering if i got a bad batch or if the quality has decreased that much in the singles?

I haven't ordered any in a few years since I still have some stock, but Viva has gradually made the cases thinner and thinner over the years. You can also see, or feel, it with the newer retail releases too.

that sucks. i may end up eventually just ordering double disc cases to replace the single disc ones. i'm definitely not too happy with the ones i just got but decided to use them anyways for now. if they've gotten that cheap and flimsy i don't see how complaining about it to discmakers would solve anything.

It sucks, but it's definitely better than the Viva eco-cases with holes. For the longest time the Vortex 1-2 disc cases have only been available in the eco variety. However, it seems some of the newer releases have a newer Vortex (Amaray AGI) variant and are much more thicker and more rigid. I haven't found anyone selling replacement cases of those as of yet, though.

yuck, i hate vortex cases with a passion and is the reason i ordered the vivas.

I'm hoping to find one that can hold at least 11 discs.

Random question about movie cases.

Someone experiment some kind on "mist", "fog" on the Scanavo cases? also some has some strange circles.

I clean each case inside/out and it and is possibly remove it. It's like some mist.

It's strange but I open each movie when arrive to my hands and already have that, I mean is not my room humidity or something, they arrive to my hands like that.

Same happens with Criterions etc. to all Scanavo cases, even normal BluRays.

Any response to the mistery?

oh really? is that very common?

a lot of my movies has that, I buy a lot brand new Criterions, Indicators, Arrows, I open it and boom! has that, even some steelbooks (inside the tin and plastic).

If there are, I haven't come across any cases greater than the 10-disc capacity.
