I, for one, am ecstatic. Marsai actually co-exec produced the film with Will Packer and came up with the idea for the film; quite a feat for a 13 year old.
Regina Hall, Marsai Martin and Issa Rae? Right up my alley. |

This looks like it could be funny.
"From the Producer of Girls Trip and Night School..." At least one of those films is hilarious. Besides, Regina Hall and Issa Rae can do no wrong in my eyes. I'll give it a shot. |

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/little_2019 Most seem to agree the script is uneven and the overall story has been done before but Issa and Marsai are hysterical and a great on screen duo. |

4.5/5
I loved every single thing about this. Took half a point away because it has those cliché end points films like these have but still found them to be faithful to their storylines. First, Marsai Martin has a bright career ahead of her in comedy. The way she’s able to portray a 30-something woman stuck in a 13 year olds body while still retaining that sassy attitude Regina’s Jordan has is great. They clearly worked together because their walk, their talk, posture, etc. Everything matched up. Secondly, Issa Rae! She and Marsai’s chemistry together was off the charts. They were dynamic together. Issa also has great comedic chops because she has a lot of one-liners that fly under the radar that are hysterical. Like I said, the film wraps up in all the cliche’d ways but it didn’t detract at all from my enjoyment. I won’t tell you to rush out and see it because my opinion is probably more biased because I love everyone involved but it’s worth checking out when it hits streaming/dvd. |
