Default For anybody trying to hook up a 4K disc player to a 4K JVC 55" MA877 TV.

I got a Sony 4K player last Thursday and couldn't get a decent picture on the 4K discs (Blu-rays played fine) from my 55" JVC 4K TV and I was about to give up. It took me 3 days of bad advice from a million people before I figured this out on my own. Go to the TV remote and press menu, then press function, then go to HDMI EDID and make sure you click 1.4 (mine had been on 2.0). Then it should look perfect. I have no idea why this fixed everything, but it did.

Dear lord are you full of garbage. All you did was trash the x700 in the thread and refused all help and requests for more info. I offered personally to walk you through your settings. All you did was complain and gripe instead of actually try to receive help. Whatever.

I was basically told I was an idiot for buying a cheap TV and bailed. There are a lot of good reasons people buy a cheap TV. I live in Houston and had the first floor of my Townhouse destroyed by the Hurricane. No work has been done on it in 2 years. The Townhouse association and contractors ended up stealing 40 grand (1 million from everyone else) that was meant for repairs and then put a lien on our house so we couldn't sell it. There is nothing I can do about it because it all seems to be legal. Maybe you were one of the people who tried to help, but you were outnumbered by jerks. Whatever.

Only one person did that, Geoff, and he's a known curmudgeon.

I didn't mean you. The day I was about to give up I went to a lot of TV retailers (Conn's, Best Buy) and they all told me the JVC TV was junk and that there was no magic button I could push to fix this problem and there was no point in even trying to use my warranty. They were most of the jerks I was talking about and that one guy you mentioned.

Didn’t I say the problem is with your Tv and not the 4K format as you alluded to?
