I've never given TT much grief in the past about its Sales, but I must say I'm close to being royally insulted by the latest TT email "15 for $15" sale, but at least a few of the items can be considered ON SALE so it's not a total waste.

SALE starts 4/16 at 10am ET and runs through the April 30th 4pm ET. I must say I really miss the real Anniversary Sale. I have about 20-30 teed up for what in the past would have been $14.95 prices.

Half the items were $6.95 at the last BF sale and have pretty constantly been part of the 7/70 sales for over 2 years.
Doubling the pricing on this set of items and calling it a SALE is close to Amazon Prime Day tactics.
The Vanishing
Rita Sue and Bob Too
The Firm
Fever Pitch
Che
Bandit Queen
Alamo Bay

At least these four are back close to their prior sale prices $14.95
Nicholas Nickleby
8 Heads in a Duffel Bag
The Stone Killer
The Valachi Papers

The last 4 at least have never been below 19.95 that I can tell
Kid Galahad
Take a Girl Like Me
Virgin Soldiers
Wuthering Heights (I could have sworn this had been $15 at least once but I couldn't find it other than being a Signed Promo Copy)

Couldn't agree more. This is something I'd expect out of Shout Factory, not Twilight Time. And those 'bundle' deals are gone off of SAE's site.

Well I'm not so much insulted as wondering where their heads are at. If they couldn't sell half of those titles at $10 or less, who is going to want to buy them at $15? Not to mention some of these other titles are also available from other labels such as Powerhouse or Mill Creek for competitive prices.

I'm also one of those who was disappointed that they didn't have a March Madness sale this year as I usually buy quite a few titles during those big sales.

That is a terrible sale. Shame too as I was wondering/hoping they'd have a nice little sale around this time.

I bought 14 titles from the 7 for $70 sale and that's actually not bad, assuming you don't already own them. I'll pick up the occasional $15 title but it's really hard to justify $30 for a plain release, even with my FOMO.

It's not that surprising coming from SAE, who have done that kind of see-sawing on price points in promotions in the past with CDs as well as blus.

That's OK. Just like Shout Factory now, I can wait them out on just about everything. There's still plenty coming out from other labels that hit the more comfortable price point for me.

What's sad is, while I'm still plenty eager to get something like Hot Rock or Gloria, when Kino has a sale I'm more likely to impulse buy two titles blind at $11.99 each, than I am to drop $22.95 on something from TT I really want.

TT just makes it remarkably easy to ignore them most of the time.

Now that I'm region free, I don't see myself buying too many TT titles as I can wait longer for companies like Arrow, Eureka, and Indicator to release them and many cases there cheaper than the TT version plus I can wait longer in most cases. Moving forward, I really just see myself buying titles during the big sales.

Twilight Time informed they had both Whirlpool and Fallen Angel, but they were waiting for new 4k transfers of the titles. I do not know if the Fox team had enough time to perform the proper work. Hopefully, yes.

Has anyone had the opportunity to watch The Otto Preminger Film Noir Collection, released in Region B back in 2015, and if so, how were the transfers? This box set contains Fallen Angeland Whirlpool, as well as Where the Sidewalk Ends. As the months drag by without Twilight Time issuing Fallen Angel and Whirlpool, going region free and ordering this set from the U.K. seems like an increasingly attractive proposition.

Reviews from the time of the release stated thar both Fallen Angel and Whirlpool had the same old transfers used for the Fox noir dvds. Where the sidewalk ends had the 4k restoration transfer.

They reuse the DVD masters and they're decent but definitely show their age.

The BFI Blu used the older master and not the TT remaster.

True, but it's not BF and in this case you only have to purchase one item to get the $15 price vs. having to purchase 7 titles (and paying $70) before you get the discount.

All are DVD masters from older HD telecine. Where the Sidewalk Ends looks quite good but Whirlpool has a lot of problems in motion with instability. TT said previously they were waiting on new Fox masters for Whirlpool and Fallen Angel.

Not to mention that the Disney buy-out complicates things for Fox. I've been suspecting that some of Fox's back-sliding on BD releases on TV shows (seriously? No Orville on BD?!) is because of the Disney thing.

I've been patiently waiting to see if TT would put out those two Premingers, but I'm getting more inclined to go ahead and get the BFI Preminger Noir Collection.

The transfers look fine, even though they are sourced from old masters, as others have stated. However, the collection is still very much worth getting due to the Adrian Martin commentaries on each film. The commentary for Where the Sidewalk Ends wasn't carried over to the TT release (although that release does have a fantastic Eddie Muller commentary), so who knows whether the Martin commentaries for Fallen Angel and Whirlpool will be carried over if/when TT release them.

In case there's anyone here who doesn't know yet, and missed out on TT's release of Nineteen Eighty-Four, it's coming out from Criterion in July:

I agree with some previous posters in regards . This twilight time / SAE sale offer overall is horrible . Many titles offered at $15 were on the 7 for $70 deal .

I think W Heights & K.Galahad may be worth the $15 . Many of the older titles likely would do okay under $10 . The titles that were on the 7 for $70 offer for a sale should have been like other sales $6.99 or whatever the had done in the past . IMO .

I think they did away with he 7 for 70 offer . If so I do not think that was smart unless they are revamping it to create a newer offer with many more other titles . I think that would really help them sell more stuff faster .

Anyways I am being a bit critical though I mostly appreciate and love many titles that are offered more often than not . The current sale offer is not a good one in terms of value and most titles are offered are not much lower if at all than they offered in other offers and sales .

I myself do not like the 15 for $15 offers . I think when they run sales by them offering under $10 mixed in with $15 is smart and adds more variety and flexibility . I also believe much older titles like ones offered from their 7 for $70 would sell out much faster if they offered them at the $6.99 rate via sales .

I was hoping this sale to buy many titles but I guess I am saving my $$$$ hoping that the following sale will be much better and hopefully then will buy many of .

Lastly I noticed that SAE has not updated their low quantity in quit awhile hope they do so it is good when they let us know how low they are so people whom are having tight funds make good decisions to get ones we know are lower on the now before they sell out and get others we were considering a bit later as those will be around a bit longer most likely .

I am kind of hoping Baby Boom , Sayonara , Manhattan Murder Mystery , State Fair & Dragonwyck would be on sale myself

I will say that I see only 31 x Hardcore available at SAE remaining after that they are sold out .

Looking forward to the next sale hope it is much better
