I used to own the Twilight Time release, it was very good quality wise, iirc. And you can't go wrong with Umbrella. They are having a sale right now. I bought Cat's Eye. It's region free and has some exclusive extras, which the American release had none. Anyway, I've been happy with my Umbrella purchases.
btw, we need a Shout sale. I have some extra money and some scream titles that I want to buy. |

Yeah. I have the Twilight Time one. Pre ordered it. Even have the foreign steelbook. But just wondering why no love have been put into special features for this classic. I mean I have a scream factory Critters 4 blu ray that has more features than Enemy Mine has ever had combined. Sad.

![]() ![]() There is unrest in the forest, and there is trouble with the trees. A conservationist, played by Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones), moves with his wife, played by Bojana Novakovic (I, Tonya), and infant son to a remote Irish town in order to survey the surrounding woods for a future logging operation, only to be greeted with animosity by the locals, who do not wish to see their land disturbed. The claims of his neighbors that the wilderness is inhabited by fairies and spirits are greeted by initial disdain, and the sighting of an oily black fungus on the carcass of a dead animal is accepted as a matter of course. During one fateful night, however, the family discovers that the folklore stories are not mere fiction. The 2015 British-Irish supernatural horror film, The Hallow, which was directed with an enthusiastic flair by Corin Hardy (The Nun), deftly combines elements of Straw Dogs, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Evil Dead, Zombie, and John Carpenter's The Thing into a whole that is greater than the sum of its influences. A generous helping of body horror in the tradition of David Cronenberg's movies provides a layer of icing to this macabre cake. This feature, which only takes a half hour to veer from superbly atmospheric eeriness into grand-scale special effects mayhem, never fully commits to any of its prospective thematic undercurrents concerning ecology, cultural customs, or parental responsibility, but the creature effects and creative gore moments more than make up for any lack of intellectual oversight. What we are ultimately left with in terms of analysis is an apparent meditation on the abilities of families to take care of their children in the face of worsening environmental conditions. At any rate, I get a real kick out of the overall spectacle, and I believe that this is one of the better horror outings of the past decade. I instinctively feel protective toward Mawle's lead protagonist, because he has great taste in music. At one point, when he is driving his son through the countryside, he is listening to the 1988 song, “Sabres”, by the criminally underrated Lincoln, Nebraska post-punk band, For Against. I am a longtime fan of For Against, and I even met them when they reunited and played a gig here in Atlanta a decade or so ago. I do not usually stumble across make-believe movie characters who listen to the same wonderful unsung bands whom I love. I do not care if all of the bland Top 40-listening film characters of the world die horrifically gruesome eye-piercing fungus disfigurement deaths, but those proud few who play For Against in their vehicles should be left alone. This Scream Factory/IFC Midnight Blu-ray should be owned by everybody in the world. It looks great, it sounds great, and it throws some fine extras in our direction. http://cinematicrandomness.com/umbre...cats-eye-1985/ I live in the US, and I have bought Umbrella Entertainment's Silver Bullet, Apt Pupil, and yesterday I ordered Cat's Eye with the sale. After shipping it was $15. I recommend buying it now, as it's discounted heavily. Apt Pupil had very little extras, but Silver Bullet had excellent extras. And 35 minutes of features for cat's Eye sounds pretty good compared to the US release. Last edited by Cutter_; 04-20-2019 at 02:25 AM. |

No problem! Australia unfortunetley can be extremely slow to the US. I've waited 3 weeks before. I'm assuming the same for Cat's Eye, but we'll see. But, it'll eventually get to you.

![]() ![]() That would be like reading a classified file with half of the report redacted, but with no actual indication where the redacted parts are. Or watching a classic film with half of it randomly chopped out. All of a sudden wheelchair people are everywhere and you have no idea how it happened. |

The US release of Cat's Eye has the DVD features, commentary and the trailer. I am fine with just those.
But yeah I want someone to have a CE in region A including the one feature I really want. The deleted prologue last seen in early screenings. I also like to have an effects featurette with the person in the Troll costume & such. |

I was really hoping we'd have an announcement for Sorority House Massacre II/Hard to Die by now. I'm starting to think itwas just a joke Wynorski pulled to generate interest. Or maybe it was planned, and something happened to hold it up. Legal issues, maybe.

Aren't those Corman titles? I thought the issue with the Corman family lawsuit was a factor in the lack of releases?
