Default Finding good subtitles for Laputa - Castle in the Sky?

I tried fishing around for help in another forum. Nothing concrete yet.

The problem: The subtitles available for Laputa are a tragedy. Not to be confused with the dubtitles which are purposefully different. The subtitles on the actual Disney bluray are relentlessly inaccurate. I can elaborate with as many examples as you wish, but that's the sum of it.

I'll be needing to show this movie to an audience soon, and this situation has left me in a bad spot. I can't show them this movie with subtitles this bad. I've already hunted around online for alternative subtitles. The only one I've found that's different is one labeled "THORA" (or not labeled at all, but still the same exact file). It is very nearly as poor as the Disney effort. Again, examples of what I mean can be provided.

I've been told that other bluray releases of Laputa may have better subtitles. And I know for a fact that people used to provide subtitles for this movie totally for free before it was commercialized locally, and those subtitles were of course superior. Basically it's actually pretty hard to mess up as badly as what I've seen between the Disney and Thora iterations.

Hoping someone has some ideas. (And please don't recommend showing the dub, where Pazu the child has a 20-something voice.)

Why did you make a whole thread for this? Also, you’d get a quicker answer if you posted in the anime section.

Two words: GKIDS edition. It's got proper subtitles.

Isn't the JP disc the way to go on this one?

It was, but now that GKids has issued their BD which fixed the subtitles issue and even provides two options to see Disney's dub, it's arguably a better value. Plus it's not as expensive.
